How long did it take to get your license?

After you sent in all of your required paperwork and had your inspection, how long did it take to receive your license?

Every state is different.

From the day I applied to the day I received my license was less than 30 days.

That was 20 years ago but still my state is pretty quick and really not very complicated.

I've heard a few horror stories about providers in other states waiting upwards to 6 months to a year.

It took me a couple of months because they lost my paperwork. Crazy, I know.

14 months......center.....ALL delays.caused by city zoning, not licensing. It's a long story......the moral of the story is to never give up.

Less than a month from the time I turned in my paperwork

I was technically licensed the day I passed my original inspection, which took less than a week to get scheduled after I applied. 20 years ago though so it probably is different now.

It only took less than a month for me and that was in January of this year, my state was super fast! Every state is different though.

First time here in NC was 6 years ago and it was about 30 days from the time I mailed the papers until I was licensed. This past time was almost 4 months. The processed has changed and is now a pain.

I am still awaiting a call from licensing! I sent the paperwork in a month and a half ago. It took us 5 months to get through the 14 pg. checklist so the pre-licensor could come!

From the time I sent in my paperwork to my inspection was 2 months. It was about a month after my inspection before I got my license. In Washington you have 3 months to complete everything before you have to start over. I was licensed just a week or so from that date.

I sent in my paperwork at the end of January and have my license at the end of April. But every state is different ... here in MI, we send in the paperwork, they send us to an orientation, and once that is completed and we send in MORE paperwork after the orientation, then they send you your license.

When I opened my daycare in Northern British Columbia, it took 30days or less. Now that I moved down south further it took me 6 months! Diffetent health units have different requirements/wait time. I ended up picking up a part time job while I waited

I think a better question to ask is how long did your state say it would take vs. when you actually were approved?
