I think I will have to attempt two naps with him for a while. The first few days he was the only one here so he was able to nap mid morning but he slept for hours... he is hard to wake up once he is asleep and if you do wake him up he is very crabby so it's kind of like picking the lesser of two evils with that. I am hopeful with some more time he will adjust. It really just makes me feel like I am not doing it right.
Eh...don't feel too bad, lady. You are here trying to figure it out, and that's wonderful.

One thing I learned with toddlers, it's that once they eat at your house, they're comfortable.

I don't know what your policy on treats is, but perhaps after nap one day, if he's in a fine mood, you can pass out a cookie or a couple gummy bears? Once he eats something, you've one a minor battle.

I definitely would try the 2 nap thing. I bet it will help.

How is he outside? If he wakes up crabby from the first nap, have a stroller ready and go for a walk. That'll help everyone cope.

We did a simple fruit snack for a treat after nap today and his are still sitting in the wrapper! I was shocked! I have to be very careful what he eats as he has allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs. He is slow to wake up regardless of how long he sleeps, usually takes about 45 minutes for him to stop crying upon waking. I have debated multiple times laying him back down but I figure it happens either way so I am just prolonging the inevitable if I do so. I will definitely try the two naps and see if we can get to know each other a little better! He has come out of his shell a bit and enjoys my company atleast so that's progress. He loves to go outside... he literally runs every where! he is really a fun little guy when he isn't having anxiety (or atleast that is what it feels like is happening.)

Toddlers, teens, men, it's all the same - feed 'em and they're happy, LOL!

Seriously though, find out what his favorite foods are and serve one at every meal, every day.
