Yes and it is verbal. Didn't think to put it in my policies.

This was supposed to be a poll. Seeing if BC can fix it.

        Fixed it!

I do not send bottles home to be washed.

I require parents to bring 2 NEW in the package bottles to me to keep and use here. I wash them myself.

No, I require two bottles to be kept at daycare at all times. It is written in my Parent Handbook along with all materials required to be kept in the cubby (change of clothes, diapers/pull ups, wipes, etc.). Some parents request to take them home on Fridays and bring them back on Monday which I'm fine with.

You are nicer than I am then because I no longer allow them to bring them home since they RARELY return them on Monday's....

I also ask parents to bring two or three if whatever their child uses at home to stay here. I wash them here and they don't leave my house

                  Yes and No

Formula Babies- I have them send 2-3 bottles that stay here at all times. I clean them and have them ready for the next day.

Breastfed Babies- I have them send ready to use bottles each day. I keep them in my fridge. At the end of the day, I send home any unused bottles (usually there are none) and rinsed empty bottles. They clean, refill, and return the next day.

                      I wash them here.

I wouldn't love the idea of them going home and then potentially forgotten everyday!

I don't send sippys or other eating utensils home for parents to wash either. Honestly the concept seems a little strange to me. For those that do send bottles home if you'd be willing to offer your reasons why I'd like to learn the other side of this coin!

Me too! I think sending them home (and hoping they are returned) is just one extra thing I don't want to have to think about.

I voted no but really it depends on whether or not they provide me with bottles to keep here. If they do leave bottles here then I will wash them myself. If they don't leave bottles here then I will rinse them and send them home at the end of the day. I do it this way because I normally do one full dishwasher load in the evening after daycare is done and after we all have dinner so I don't want to have to wash dishes/bottles during the day by hand and there's no way that I could do a full load of dishwasher dishes before the end of the DC day (I wouldn't have enough dishes yet to fill a full load) and have them be ready and dry by the time I closed at 6pm.

Bottles stay here and I wash, that way I know I have some! I did have a couple times where the parent had to stay in town late (they lived 25 min away) and they didn't bring a bottle. Then I did send 1 with them, but they had another one here just in case they forgot to bring it back the next day.

I prefer to just have parents leave me 2 bottles to keep here. If they do that, I wash them myself. If a parent prefers to prepare bottles and bring them daily, then they wash them at home.
