    Part Time Options

Do you specify certain days for your part-time slots or do you allow parents to choose whatever days they need?

Currently I am offering part-time as any 3 days or less up to 27 hours. I am debating on whether or not to do a M-W-F slot and a T-R slot because I think it would allow me to fill an entire "full-time" slot but then I'm wondering if it will limit my clients by setting the days for them.

For the clients looking for part time- do they tend to need certain days more than others?

Most of my inquiries have been only FT. I really think its what the provider has to offer and also parents need. For example, if I was offering pre-school I would then set the days and hours but if your services are strictly just daycare services I will honestly leave it up to the parents. Or whatever you are willing to take on.
    Hope that helps

I only have spots for 3 daycare kids total. I will break up a spot for part time but only if I can get someone to fill that Tu/Th spot. It's usually a stay at home mom who wants socialization. Plus I charge it so that if I break up a spot I get more per month than I would for full time.

they choose but they are set days. 3 set days is p/t unless I have a p/t them I will allow p/t 2 set days using the open days that are left.
        It:: will wait

I will take any days, as long as they work with my other part-timers schedules. Luckily, 2 of my PTers have grandparents who watch them on the other days, so if I ever have the opportunity to take on another PT child whose schedule doesn't exactly fit with my current p/t schedules, they will switch days for me if possible.

Right now we have a total of 5 PT children, that together make up 3 FT spots. Their schedules work like puzzle pieces.

I will offer any days as well as long as they work with my schedule. However, most of my PTers have been either M/W/F or T/Th. I also charge more for these days than I do for FT care.

Phasing out part time. Next year will only have one part time girl who will come 3 days. Mom wanted 2 days, but I told her 3 days or more. Currently she comes 2 days.

It depends how badly I need kids if I take a PT kid.
I usually tell the parent that FT trumps, so they could lose the spot at any time.

I do not offer part time care UNLESS it is a current family and they need to go to part time I give a small discount. Instead of $525 per month I discount it to $450 and they can choose any 3 days each week that they want. Most people stick with the full time.

My preference is FT. I will only fill 1 or 2 spots with part timers.

Right now I have one part timer that is here 4 days a week and another one that is here 3 days per week. They were the right fit, so I was willing to give up a few days. If I found someone that needed their days off, I would fill them, but haven't really searched for anyone.

I charge part timers the same as full timers, but charge a 3 day minimum.

                        I voted "other"

The minimum I offer is 3 days.

Those 3 days can be a set three days per week for ONE fee or they can be VARIOUS 3 days a week for a higher fee.

Anything less than 3 days per week is considered drop in and ONLY available IF I have the space.

I should also mention that only 2 of my 12 spaces can be filled with PT'ers.

I get a lot of calls for PT, what I do is limit my spots for PT. I save 3 spots for FT so that I can have enough income to cover my bills and then I allow my PT clients to pick which days they need. I do put restrictions on them however such as defining PT as 1-3 days per week, 30 hours or less per week and no more than 10 hours per day. That way I don't get clients that want a Mon-Fri morning only spot that try to call it a PT spot. For me, 4 or 5 days per week equals FT no matter how you dice it and no matter what time your child is going home.

If I have gaps where I can fill another child then I go ahead and advertise that specific spot. For example, right now I have a spot and my advertisement says something like "Part-time opening available for a child 20 months+ for Tues-Thursday (take one day or take all three days)" etc.

I keep my group small, so I don't offer part-time.

We usually just look at the days they need, and if i can do it, I do. Especially if the child is a good fit..i'll try to make it work.
