Where Do You All Change Diapers?

I have a changing table in the bathroom (really big bathroom), and another in the laundry room on a shelf above the washer/dryer. However, in a pinch, I have been known to throw a towel on the floor and change a baby wherever (shhhh...even outside)

Since I work in a center all our diapers are changed on a changing table. With my own kids, however, I had "diaper changing stations" in a basket or drawer in each room I might ever need to change a diaper in (usually living room, my room, kid's room). I would have a changing pad and all supplies I would need and just pull it out when needed.- Flag

Licensing rules here do not allow for us to change diapers on the carpet ... it has to be on a changing table, on a non-absorbent surface (hardwood/tile floors). I have a changing pad that I will lay on the floor just outside of the bathroom (hardwood).- Flag

I have a changing table in a bedroom, but for the children who can stand, I change them standing up if it's only a wet diaper. I have quickly realized that I need to move the table somewhere else or come up with another solution. It's hard to move all the kids to the bedroom (my main daycare room is my living room which is down the hall from the bedroom) because they are all so young and I feel unsafe if I leave them in the room while I'm changing someone even though it is gated off. I have two 7 mo olds, an 18 mo. old, 20 mo. old and 2 1/2 year old. I do admit that I have quickly changed a child on the carpeted floor before ( I have one of those waterproof sheet things) so that I wouldn't have to haul everyone in the bedroom..shhh- Flag

I always change them on the floor. I don't have room for a changing table, and some are too big for one anyway.
Each of my diaper wearers has a small basket with enough diapers for the day (extras are stored in their cubbie), wipes, and a washable changing pad. I have a general diaper basket with gloves, plastic bags, lysol wipes. After changing, I just wipe it down their mat with a lysol wipe, fold it up and toss it back in their basket. The changing pads I use fold up and velcro closed. They are really made for diaper bags, but work great for me.- Flag

On top of my dryerI have a changing pad on it that would go on a changing table. My washer and dryer are in my kitchen area but outside my kid fenced area. Shelves above hold all of their supplies. Trash can is right there and I wash my hands in the sink after I leap back over the gate.

I have a commercial changing table that mounts on the wall, kind of like this...
I love it because I can store things on the floor underneath it. Saves a lot of space.Last edited by Blackcat31; 03-17-2013, 07:32 AM.- Flag

I have a traditional changing table in the corner of my playroom. All my kids are in diapers - having to pull out and put away a changing pad would be more of a pain for me and I don't like having to get down on the floor to change them - rather lift them up to my level.- Flag

I have a chaging mat in the bathroom, foldable, each kid gets their own, which gets sanitized and goes in their bathroom cubby. Mine are mostly all toilet trained though.- Flag

Right now I have a changing mat that I lay on the floor to change, sanitize and put away. I am working on a new room where the changing table will be in a closet that is adjacent to the bathroom....it will be so much easier.- Flag
