Reverse footie pajamas (with feet cut-off) here too. My own 2yo DS started taking off his diapers so this is what I used. It has worked for DC kids as well as my own kids.

The parents dont want her in a onsie because they feel she is ready for potty training.
I dont feel she is ready at all. She pees all over my house when they send her in panties.
She never tells me that she has to pee.
They insist she is ready.- Flag

Can you put a onesie on over her clothes? That's what I do for diaper explorers. They can't get the onesie off or remove their clothing. Onesies underneath usually can slide to the side and kids can get in through the leg holes. Ick!- Flag

I would require diapers or pullups until she is accident free for two weeks at your house and you tell them to bring her in panties. if they cant cooperate, I would term. i absolutely do not allow kids to poop and pee all over my house. i dont deal with parents pushing me to potty train and assuring me their child is ready.- Flag

If she is still playing in poo then she is NOT ready for pottytraining. Oh my. In the end it is my home that will be ruined by the poop and so this issue would become a deal breaker for me.- Flag

So they are unwilling to work with you on this? Wow. So they are okay with their child being in a childcare setting where fecal matter is just randomly being spread about the play area. Are their younger children where toys are being mouthed? Do they expect other parents of children in care to be okay with this? Do they think it is okay for you to have to go about cleaning up after this? A tad self focused perhaps? I think I would be telling them their child is by no means ready to potty train if she is playing with her poop, and for sanitary reasons if they are not prepared to comply with your requests then seek care else where.- Flag

Pressure wash it. It will be fine.
Get the onsies immediately.
If the parents complain about the onsie, tell them that they will need to come and clean up any mess she makes. This is disgusting. I've had to pressure wash my pack-n-play once. Never again.- Flag

A child who smears poop is not ready for potty training.
I would decide a plan of action - be it footed jammies or whatever
I would replace the pack n play myself and write it off on my taxes.
the child would NEVER be out of my sight, including during nap time.
This IS your responsibility, just as much as it is the parents. You are the one who was caring for her when this happened. I would either change my approach to supervision of her, or I would terminate care (if the parents don't support your efforts)
In 16 years I have NEVER had a child smear poop here....they have done it at home....one little boy even pulled it out at the dinner table and started eating it...but NEVER here.- Flag

I wouldn't really recomend this but...
A few years ago at one place I used to work at they said they once had a little girl who would take off her diaper during naptime and smear it on the sheets and all over herself(there is no sick face) so one thing they did was when she was put down for a nap they put tape around the waist band on her diaper (not too tight just a little snug so she couldn't take it off or put her hands in).
Honestly I think it is a phase most kids go through at some point (posibly a sensory or just exploritoty/curiosity phase). It could be she just doesn't like the feel of it in her diaper being full and is trying to get rid of it. I personaly would either make sure that she is by my side at all times until she can be trusted with some distance (including nap time) or try to check her diaper/pull-up every 1/2 hour to an hour and change it immediately (which sould be done anyway). I would tell the DCPs that she is not techniqually potty trained in your care (if they just want her to be for cheaper rates) until all of her #1 and #2 goes in the potty with no smearing incidents. Also try to encourage her to tell you before she goes potty so she can go to the toilet- you can praise other children when they use the potty or you can do stickers/stamps to chart her potty training progress.- Flag

My cousins son eats his own poop & dog poop. He has been tested for PICA, nope. I didn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes, he dropped his popscicle outside at a picnic in favor of my aunts dog poop in the yard and popped it right in his mouth, and KEPT eating it until they took it away. *gag*- Flag
