Don't you think that's a bit over the top to have to hide beer from your daycare families? It's not like you have a gun in your refrigerator. I guess I'm just surprised that people are worried about wine or beer in your "personal" refrigerator. It's not an illegal substance. I am really surprised that you would buy an extra refrigerator and hide it in the bedroom. If anyone gave me crap about having my wine in my own refrigerator they could hit the door in my opinion. Now if I was drinking it during daycare hours that would be a different story and trust me, there have been times that I have wanted to LOL! I don't allow anyone in my refrigerator. It's not their place. I don't go in my best friends refrigerator without asking either and we've been friends for 43 years. It's called respect.

      Thats just me personally....

Well there is a lot more to it than just that. Part of it is I plan on watching ages 6 months to 12 years and if a school age kid goes into the fridge when I am tending to a younger kid I dont want to risk them taking it -my brother (in 6th grade at the time) once stole our roomates beer and brought it to school (he was suspended); addictions do run in both our families (my fiance's father is a recovering alcoholic and my grandfather was one) and I personally don't want that kinda risk factor around my future children when they are growing up. Plus I think he kinda likes the idea of having his own personal refreshment fridge in his room.

I would just wanna have two refrigerators or at least one refirdgerator and one freezer because I like buying things in bulk when they are on sale and would need enough space.

Also this is something I do NOT agree with or plan on doing or promote in anyway but this is something interesting I have heard:
the family child care provider I used to work for was in business for over 30 years and was kinda close friends with this one lady who regualarly inspected her home (IDK if it was her licensor or just a state inspector). One time during her vist the lady mentions to my boss (in this state or county at least I am not sure if nationaly) that it is technicly perfectly legal, to not only have an occational shot, but to be totally drunk when kids are at your home as long as you are not driving My boss has never done this but I was shocked to hear that their is no regulation on that! If I was a parent I would not want to drop my child off to someone who is drinking heavily when my child was in their care. That was a few years ago so maybe they have changed it or something and I am not 100% sure if their was any other regulation to that that was just what my boss and her daughter (another assistant and my best friend at the time) told me the lady said.

hey i would love to have a refrigerator in my room too!! my son (14) actually asked for a college size one for Christmas. Yea, not happening LOL!!! We have a refrigerator in our basement too for bulk items. It is nice to have. I can't believe that a consultant would say that, that is insane. I guess if it doesn't specifically say that in the rule book then it must be okay right? Oh lord have mercy. I cannot imagine doing that, not in my wildest dreams. I would never even have a sip when I'm working.

Sorry for my language but are you ****ing kidding me? My daycare parents drop off and pick up their children in my entrance hallway. Once in a while their children pull them into the dining room or my living room to show them something which is also my daycare room and that's ok. But if they started looking into cupboards or closets or my fridge I would be livid! I do not have anythng to hide but manners are manners!
