LOL.. I just read this, after I posted how I think 68 is way too cold.

Can you believe that the temperatures were in the mid to high 80's last weekend?!?! My thermostat in the car read 86! I hate having the a/c on in DECEMBER!!!

I can't wait until we can get our house down to 68....or lower . It only lasts a few weeks (maybe 2 if we're lucky and keep the windows open all night), but I really enjoy the small amount of time we can legitimately bundle up.

second, can you turn your heat down, mine is at 66 degree's, I never touch it.

I would also only open the windows at nap time and thats it. Also, close your vents.
Wow. You ladies must have some great windows & insulation! My house is at 70-72 and sometimes still feels cold! I did buy the plastic that goes over
the windows this year. Still waiting for dh to install it Maybe the fact that we have only hardwood floors in the living room for the past year doesn't help. Just when I was thinking of opening my windows like you do, people are saying it may not matter!

We (per liscensing) have to keep our homes at 68 degrees.

I'm feeling like all my heat though is being ****ed out the windows when it comes on. Our bill is high enough in the winter without it all going outside.

We have vents sometimes two in front of the windows.
Can you go higher than 68? brrrr..

I honestly don't stress over it. I have never contemplated opening windows w heat on. I don't open them at all, ever. If the fresh air doesn't come in when a person does, well I don't need it. I couldn't imagin heating the yard. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but after 26 years as a provider, I'm not going to change now.

windows open with the heat on? No way could I do that. I wouldn't be able to stand thinking of all my money going out that window as heat, especially since I also have to keep it at 68 and I am basement level (just 3 feet below ground). Plus the boiler is in my playroom, so I get the lovely joy of hearing every time it clicks on. Heat is on half the year here, so that would drive me crazy. I've got bleach and lysol if i want to disifect. ::
