I'm just asking because in some cultures, as long as the clothes aren't dirty, they're reworn. I'm in Germany and have come across this- they think it's wasteful to wash things after one use if it's cleanish. A coworker also experienced this in Italy.

Just thought I'd throw in another view point
VERY good point!!! Cultural differences are something we should always be respectful of. I also think that unless the child is outright neglected, I wouldn't think much of it. If his BASIC needs are being met, I personally would never be judgemental about the clothing a parent puts on their child.

I have several kids who wear the same clothes from day to day (some have even slept in them) and yet the children are clean and healthy and overall in great condition so I don't worry.

Sorry, but my DS 15 months is a terrible sleeper, horrible, he's never slept through the night his entire life, nurses to sleep for bedtime and naps and nurses all night long. I am really trying to break these bad sleep associations but he is a tyrant and SO strong willed it's extremely hard and exhausting.

Because we cosleep I only dress him in a t-shirt and diaper for bed. Traditional footie/long sleeve jammies would be WAY too hot under the blankets and with my husband and I creating body heat as well.

I USUALLY put him in a fresh soft t-shirt before bed, but often let him continue to wear the shirt long into the morning when he's running around as DCKs are arriving and through breakfast. I do ALWAYS change him into a fresh diaper though! I would never leave him in a nasty diaper, that's disgusting!!!

I myself also have a bad habit of just taking off my jeans and bra and sleeping in whatever t shirt I've worn for the day to sleep in.

And I also agree with what Pandamom was saying about frequency of clothes washing. I grew up in a family that did NOT wash clothes just because you wore them once. My husbands family did. When we got married this was something that was very different about us. If the clothes are still mostly clean, didn't sweat, didn't get dirty, etc. then I will absolutely hang it back up and wear it again. I would view washing something just because it was worn was as very very wasteful, IMO.
My younger brother and his wife began co-sleeping with their first born. They now have a family bed in which they both sleep in with their 3 children (ages 5,7,9).

I never co-slept with either of my children but it works for my brother and they love it and are a very close-knit family!
