I had a couple of school age kids bring their pet rats and a Madagascar Hissing ****roach. Couldn't wait to get them all out of my house and on to the school bus!

Not the weirdest but it did make me a tad bit irritated, kwim; was a bag of doritos and a bag of gummy bears cause the new dcg3 that didn't like what I serve for meals. Yes, that was what her parents let her eat every day.
I had a child like that. The parents approached it really rudely. She was only here 5 weeks.

I had a 7 year old bring in a baggie of those Magnetix( I think that's what they're called)...I told the dad they were a BIG no-no since I had a baby here ...the kid bawled and the dad got all pissy and said, "Well, he can freakin' just sit at the table and play with them!" I said, "NO, he cannot freakin' NOT sit at the table with them! If just one of them falls on the floor and the baby gets to it before I do, she could choke to death...so you think that's better than having to say No to your kid???"

He was pretty steamed when he left but made the kid put them away...5 minutes after he left the kid went to try to get them and I removed them from his hot little hands..LOL! He started bawling again and said, "My dad said I can play with them at the table!" There was another mom who came in just then and looked at me like I was the biggest meanie in the world... I said to the kid, "Your DAD is NOT the boss here , I AM and you are not having them here..end of story!"

I explained it to the other mom and she had the grace to look sheepish...LOL! She agreed with me, of course since her little one wasn't all that old either...

5 yr old dcb's use to bring money, rocks, and rubber bracelets-those always went into the cubbies as soon as I found them. They also brought baby toads and crickets one day -those went directly outside when I heard the crickets in their pockets! Apparently they would find them in the morning and stick them in the car for their mom to find later, but would then get mad when she set them free, so they decided their pockets were a better place to be::

We have sleepovers once every other month or so on a Friday night. Once, years ago, we had a school age girl and her brother show up with their hamsters in their backpacks! Not in cages or anything!

Nothing weird, just inappropriately small. One parent/child in particular. Little toy hair brushes the size of your little finger. Coins. Bridge tokens. Very rude considering my son was between 3 months and 14 months during the time the girl was here, and puts EVERYTHING in his mouth! Just because I didn't specify no miniature objects to be brought in my parent handbook does not mean it's okay! haha

I had a little boy come in with a bank bag FULL of money once. Hundreds!

Luckily that dad called me shortly after mom dropped off and asked if the little boy happen to have his business bank bag. I guess he had a habit of taking it and carrying it around the house when dad wasn't looking.

My son came home with kittens one time in his backpack!!!! He was in so much hot water as dad is so allergic to them. He actually found homes that night for them.

Forgot to add-my son was in high school when this happened!
