DCB age 3 brought a zip-lock baggie full of beer bottle tops once.

Said he used them as checkers

Also had a DCG bring a couple empty tampon applicators (the plastic ones) She said they were her "pretend" lipsticks ::

A hanger. Yes, a clothes hanger. It was one of those plastic toddler ones. It was pink and the little girl wouldn't let go of it. I just took it after mom left and told the little girl we would put it in her cubby. Mom "couldn't take it from her because she was freaking out", but the little girl knows the rules about bringing anything from home to my house.

I had a 3yo I would pat down every morning at arrival. He always had SOMETHING inappropriate. The weirdest was an awl. YEs, the tool. 6" long pointy metal object to put holes in tin/leather/wood? Wonderful. Of course, random coins in various pockets, ponytail holders/rubber bands. One day he has a pair of nylons/hose around his neck. Umm....a screwdriver (it was a little stubby one, but real). All sorts of little toy pieces...legos, k'nex, parts of imaginex sets, etc.

One toddler brought an old remote control to a vcr.

We've had a DCB brought his Mom's hair clips in, but that's the silliest. If I can catch it, I send it right back out with Mom/Dad. If I don't and it's something fun for the other kids, it stays here forever.

I love this post makes me giggle::::::

I can't think of much except I have an 18 month old that brings in a whole apple every couple of days mom says she eats it. I just put it in the garbage she can't walk around with that. Yesterday she through it on the floor the minute she got to the toys so I put it on the counter and handed it back to mom this morning she was like oh::. What ever feed her before she comes please.

I had a 3 year old show up one day with $80.00 cash in his pocket. He had swiped it off the table, when DCD had left it there for DCM. I called mom about it to let her know DCB had it and we both had a good laugh

Oh wow the tampons are hilarious!

My husband reminded me of the most awkward by far. DCM took childs blanket home over the weekend to wash. She must have just grabbed it out of the dryer right before coming monday morning because when I put it on child at naptime I found a pair of DCMs black lacy underpants and a dryer sheet stuck to it!! :: :: ::

Reminds me of Tommy Pickles on the Rugrats show. He always has a screwdriver in his diaper. LOL

                    Back to the topic

Nothing crazy about bringing stuffed bears or toys, my policy is that if it comes here it belongs to everyone to play with period. My niece brought a fancy bracelet once that apparently belongs to my MIL, not sure if my MIL even knows its still sitting around here somewhere.... nor am i in a hurry to remind her.

Enjoying these, need a good laugh today.

Not the weirdest but it did make me a tad bit irritated, kwim; was a bag of doritos and a bag of gummy bears cause the new dcg3 that didn't like what I serve for meals. Yes, that was what her parents let her eat every day.
                      I see little people.

One chiild brought in pieces of her car seat, like the head rest and such. That same child brought the remote control to their brand new DVD player.

I think mine has been change in their pocket. Common sense would tell you I have a daycare and little babies crawling around and the parent wasn't even going to mention the change in little Johnny's pocket.

The funniest thing is how they will give parents such a hard time about taking it away but with the dc provider they just hand it over. I just don't get how parents do not rule the house - I can honestly say that has never been an issue with my own kids, because I never let it be.

Been there done that. Mom was mortified. I told her, at least they were clean.
