    What’s The Weirdest Thing A DCK Has Showed Up With?

    I know most of you have policies stating no outside toys but that usually doesn't stop parents and kids from showing up with something occassionally. I have this policy too but its one that I'm pretty relaxed about. I have a small group and have never had a problem with the kids sharing and if its inappropriate it just goes in their cubby until pick up. I have one family that has a hard time saying no in the morning and so they sometimes show up with the most bizarre things that dcb has decided to play with that morning. Just makes me laugh a little and I figured you all would probably have some similarly funny examples. My best so far have been a roll of christmas gift wrap no where near December and just last week a medium sized pumpkin

    About a month ago my 2.5 yr DCG came in with an outdoor plastic yard sprinkler...completely random !! Dad said it didn't even work...but I got a good laugh out of it and so did mom when she picked up DCG. She was like "he let her bring this this AM?"

    It was funny!!

      DCB brings random stuff all the time. One day he came with a coach purse with a set of keys and nail clippers inside... usually it gets put in his cubby. Nail clippers were pulled out and I handed them to mom so she knew it wasn't ok.

        Tampons. He thought they were missiles for his army men but couldn't figure out why they were kept in the bathroom. His mom had no idea he had them. She was mortified but we had a good laugh over it.

          The tampon post reminded me of my niece when she was about 3. She used to use her moms maxi pads for barbie beds LMAO!!

          I had a little boy come one time with his hermit crabs! UGH!

                  Tire pressure gauge and a real hammer.

                  "he was screaming when leaving the house for them so we gave in"

                  Yeah that's what I want while driving, a two year old waving around a hammer and pressure gauge.

                  Funny, kid didn't cry at all when I immediately took them from him.
                  "Being a parent is wanting to hug and strangle your kid at the same time".

                    The wierdest "thing" one of my daycare kids showed up with was their cousin
                    Mom says"Oh,I forgot to tell you that his cousin is staying with us for a couple weeks this summer so is it okay if he stays too?":confused:
                    :confused:::<------------ My reaction!

                        DCB brought a kiddie camera one day, he had so much fun taking pictures all morning, inside and outside. When my DD came home from school she looked at what pictures he had taken and there were a few pictures of DCD getting out of the SHOWER!!!!! YIKES. I deleted them immediately!! It is hard to look DCD in the face now

                          The most unsafe things were change (who lets their two year old play with pennies?) and a mini screwdriver (real). The screwdriver I didn't even notice until the first diaper change of the day because it was in his pocket!

                            I had a four year old bring odd things every day and we'd just put them on the counter, but when she started bringing 2 quarters every day, that was the last straw. I was actually pretty blunt about it to dcm, saying "here you go, don't want a dead kid!" DCG never brought anything again.

                              I had a little DCB show up one time with the broken arm of one of his toys because he was now a robot and it was his robot arm. He held it ALL day and kept up the whole robot deal from 7am-5pm....it was pretty strange but funny.
