Feet Are For The Floor/Bottoms Are For Chairs

How do you get kids to sit on their bottoms???!!! I have had both of these kids almost 2 years and neither can sit on their bottom. they are 3 and 4. One of them fell of the chair a few months ago and hit their teeth on the table. Well it has killed one of the front teeth-. Parents weren't upset at me at all thank goodness.

Now, second child was fooling around with the chair today and hit their teeth pretty hard also. Both times I was telling them to sit on their bottoms when they fell.

Yes, I have taken the chairs from them and made them stand to do preschool time. My fear is someone is actually going to lose a tooth and then I'll have to deal with that.

If anyone has any, any suggestions please let me know!

exactly what you did is what I do.

They are told only one time. Chairs are for sitting, if you want to stand, please get off of the chair.

If I see them not sitting again, then they need to stand. This way there is no chance that they can fall and get hurt.

They do it because they want to be higher in the chair. Can you put them on a booster or something that makes them sit higher?

This is actually at the preschool table which is very low. These guys are 3 and plenty big enough to sit at it. A parent actually told me since this that their child flipped over the back of the high chair messing around.

Yesterday afternoon I had one flip over the side of the recliner. I really, really think kids are not taught how to sit on their bottoms anymore.

Yes, this. If you want to use your feet, you stand. Every time.

I've been known to say many times, "I dont want this chair to make you fall, so I'm going to put it away for a while."
