I run by contracted hours. The family that I am currently having problems with is contracted with me from 8:30am - 4:30pm.
So...
In the last two weeks dcb has been showing up at 8:30am OR 8:40am OR 8:50am OR 9:00am OR 9:30am with no prior notification. He is the last drop off in the morning so I wait until he gets here before I start circle story time. Last week dcm texted me at 8:45am informing me that grandpa would be walking dcb over and that he would be here in 10 minutes. 8:55am roles around no dcb, 9:05am, 9:15am, 9:25am...finally at 9:30am he shows up. Grandpa then informs me that he will be walking dcb over from here on out but isn't sure what time they will be arriving each morning. I told him that I need to know when dcb would be coming and he said, "sure fine I will bring him for 9:30am."
Now today 4:30pm rolls around and dcb is still with me. At 4:35pm I texted dcm and informed her that I had an appointment scheduled for 4:30pm (an interview which I had to cancel) and that $15 in late fees would be charged for every 15 minutes or part of 15 minutes until she came to pick him up. This is all in her contract. She shows up right before 4:45pm at which point I handed her a copy of my policy on contracted hours and late fees and told her that we needed to get her drop off times and pick up times figured out because it was starting to become quite disruptive for me.
SHE BLEW....
She said she didn't realize no one told me that grandpa wouldn't be picking up today and she needed me to watch dcb until 5:00pm and she has to leave work early to come get him. Then she brought up an issue with the Mondays that I helped her out with last month. Dcb is part time (Tues, Wed, Thurs). Last month she asked if she could bring him also on Mondays to which I said sure but I will need him picked up by 4:00pm as I don't have any other families here on Mondays past 4:00pm and he isn't suppose to be with me on Monday's to begin with. She said no problem. Now today she freaked on me saying that she had to leave work early for those days.
I am beside myself right now.
