I tell my families who will be here and for how long. I will also introduce them since most of the time it's family. I don't really ask their permission since they trust me to be their provider and should trust who I let into my home and around their kids. I don't have anyone really hang around the house while I'm doing daycare but it can happen. My daycare is in the basement though so unless the people staying here come down and hang out (which they never do...except maybe the grandma's because they love seeing the kids!!)we rarely see them during daycare hours.

I didn't say anything to them because dh's family leaves for the day after they are ready for the day- it's just the mornings that are annoying.

One mom asked if I had guests and I told her yes, but other than that I didnt mention anything. Should I have?
I like to tell the parents just so they feel informed and so it doesn't appear as if I have random adults here. My parents all trust me, though, and have never had an issue with it. When I first started daycare, I had a family who was very much in my business and had an opinion about everything and would definitely have had a problem with any adult besides my husband, me or my back-up provider.

Like Ariana said, I don't ask for permission. I just give a big enough notice so that they can make other arrangements if they don't want their child "exposed" to another adult in daycare .

Time for a little white lie tell them that one of your parents is complaining and is threatening to call your worker since they dont have background checks so they cant be there anymore during dc hours. Should do the trick
