If you taek CC transactions, however you can still charge the fees that paypal charges you since there is no way for them to know what you are charging them for anyway. But now that I think about it, I've been to stores that will charge a debit/CC fee for using them. Some charge it nonetheless and others if it's under a certain amount ($5 for example).

Oh I see, you meant a personal cardholder. For some reason I thought you meant if you as a provider (merchant) had a contract with the credit card machine company. This is great to know then when I go to those stores that charge an extra fee for using a card and refuse.

But, in my business, it's impossible to compare apples to apples, every service provided is different than the next, no two are the same.
What blows my mind is, I see people using the excuse "I forgot my checkbook"....maybe I live in a rural area where checks are still a widely acceptable form of payment, but I don't leave the house without mine.
Actually, 90% of the time, it's kept in my pickup truck.Spouse of a daycare provider....which I guess makes me one too!- Flag

do you have problems like emosks, where it took forever to get paid? A parent asked me today (left check book at home, Im the only person she writes a check for)..what I like about Minute Menu is that is for direct deposit from checking to checking so I like that better than the idea of pay pal which can take a bit of time transfering and limited transferabilty......- Flag

Yup, used to happen ALL the time before I switched from payment for the week after giving care to payment before giving care for the next week. Changed it and added that I wouldn't keep any kid until I was paid in full. No pay, no stay right? Ever since they saw I was serious and turned kids away and still charged for the day they missed because they "Forgot" their checkbook I havn't had a problem.- Flag

Cash or check only here
I only take cash or check because of my nervousness about paypal and online payment type thingies. I'm not exactly what you would call "hi-tech". In fact, I am the worst when it comes to computer stuff. My husband gets so frustrated when I am trying to find something on the "google machine" and will sometimes just take over! LOL! I am also not a fan of my financial stuff being accessed on the computer. I know that I'm being irrational, but it makes me nervous. So, as a result, I'm limited for payment options. (I am such a loser,)
