I'm not sure what that means either but I'm sure that it varies from state to state and even county to county. I've heard that some states consider some large breeds as "dangerous breeds" and in some counties certain breeds are banned and you can't have them at all. I'm from CA and neither my state nor county animal or licensing regulations say anything about not being able to keep a certain type of breed in my home around children. I could have 6 pit bulls if I wanted and still have my daycare ... would I do it? Of course not. Just because I can doesn't mean I will . I have great dogs but because of the earlier posting about the bite by a small dog that had "never done this before" I keep my dogs separated from the kids.

I'd call licensing or animal regulations to check about what is allowed in your county and area.

Our state and county does not have a ban on specific breeds. I have an American Staffordshire Terrier that would be considered a "pit bull" but he loves kids and well... all people for that matter. I guess if someone had an issue with him being in the home during hours then I could put him outside. We have an outdoor dog run for him.

Sorry! I am so used to being surrounded by military. I meant on Army Post. If you get licensed through the military for childcare you can't have your dogs interact what so ever with the children. Waiver or not.
