I have one that says "No Solicitors" on my doors, too.

        I don't care - I nicked it! Love it!

I used to have one that said:

        No Solicitors
Unless you are a Girl Scout.

In the past week, I have had 2 people spreading the Lords word and one who wanted to come in and clean my carpet(these guys were very persistent)! I want to put something on the door regarding my business hours and how I will not take these types of disturbances during the day, but don't know how to word it so it doesnt come off as snotty, but enough to get the point across that I won't be friendly if they persist on ringing my bell.
I'd take a picture of myself with crazy hair, streaked makeup and a bat. I'd type up a sign that says " beware the crazy daycare lady....you ring the bell and...well let's just say, you DON'T want to ring the bell"

Yes, this. Before I put the sign up though, I would just barely open it and say, "I really don't have time right now, but good luck to you!" as I slowly closed the door.

                That's cute

I didn't want to put anything up regarding the fact that I am doing daycare, more that I have business hours of such and such and will not be disturbed during this time kind of thing.

Do people really respect the no solicitor's sign?

Loved the big sign as well!!

Well, I am in the middle of our community (10,000 people) and I have had maybe 1 or 2 people come around trying to sell something in almost 20 years and only once have they knocked on the door and not read the sign so I think it does work.

How about something to the effect of business hours are Mon-Fri x o'clock to x o'clock and that drop in visitors will not be entertained during business hours.

When my own kids were babies I had a little sign on the door that said
Think twice before knocking because if you wake em you take em with a picture of a screaming baby on it. It was pretty funny
I now have a little sign with lots of little kids playing on it and it says
                      Please do not disturb.
Creating, playing and learning in process.

There is NOTHING more annoying than having someone ring your bell only to wake up your entire house full of sleeping toddlers or having to get up from what you are doing to entertain someone at the door while your dcks run wild. Once you lose their interest in an activity, it is pretty much done....

I let the carpet guys in (after hours) after 10 times of them coming. I let them do the demo and then I bought what they were selling!!! Best purchase ever

I normally just open the door and if it is someone trying to solicit my I normally say Im not interested and just shut the door in their face Rude I know but ... honestly I feel its rude to knock on someone's house door to try and sell them something they are not even looking for. So thats how I handle that situation

My signs says no solicitors all offenders will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. And then under I write if they would like a tour to call me or email me. I know it sounds harsh but you never know who is a predator out there and I've had parents just show up without scheduling an appointment to have a tour. My children's safety comes first I don't care if a solicitors feelings get hurt
