How Warm Do You Keep Your House?

How warm does everyone keep their houses during the day? I was keeping mine at about 75 but my power bill was over $200 last month. Do you guys turn down the heat and just dress warm or do you keep the heat up and just pay for it?

70F. My thermostat is automatic so it stays at an even 70F at all times. With all the little bodies moving around in this house, it feels like 80F most the time!

68 here. i might bump it up a bit more today though. It's super windy here! Last spring I broke our window on our screen door and we haven't replaced it yet. Makes our kitchen cold!

70 here. My house is drafty and any lower makes chilly spots upstairs.

When I was having my first inspection I had the heat set to 72, I greeted her in a tank top! It was so hot, but heat at 72 was on my regs checklist. She said I didn't have to keep it at 72. It's been at 64 ever since.

At least 65 it depends on how cold and windy it is outside my house is old and drafty so the colder it is outside the colder it feels inside at the same temp.

Regs say 68, but I can't STAND it that hot! 65-66 is my max. I make sure the kiddos dress warm.

68 is what it is set at but as the sun beats in it gets warmer and warmer. It says 70 now and if it gets between 73-75 i usually crack windows for the fresh air and turn on the ceiling fans. Nothing I like more than a cool breeze coming through the windows.

depends on the weather. My daycare room has a huge window that gets lots of sun so I can turn it down then. At night though once the sun goes down we keep it at 70 or I'm freezing.

67 - but we turn it down if it's a nice day like today (sunny and 60s!). It is currently set to 64.

I live in sunny florida, so most of the winter I have had my ac/heater turned off completely and just opening windows and running fans. Love that about living here! The summer will be a whole different story!

Mine is set at 67 for the winter, during nap time hours I have it go up to 69 or 70. Kids sleep better!

Man I wish mine electric bill was only $200 in the winter! Mine is closer to the upwards of $450-500. That with a highly efficient dual zone brand new heat pump. Not really sure how big your house is though. Mine is 3200 square feet and high energy costs here right outside of Wash DC area. I have the heat turned off in the parts of the house we dont use though during the day, like upstairs.

I set at 70 for the winter but right now I turned AC off for three days because it is getting warm in here. It would save my money. The spring has already started early this year. I was hoping I could stay off for three months before it is getting hotter by the summer.

I normally paid between $110 to $165 for the winter.
