    Overall Newsletter

Many of you know that I've been dealing with a tough group this year. Sweet kids on their own, just not all together!

I try to the best of my ability to let the parents know that happened during the day but sometimes have a few picking up at the same time or I just can't remember everything that certain child did during the day. Also, sometimes the kids are so wound up with a parent here I can't talk to them.

What I was thinking of doing is writing up a newsletter and listing all the problems I've been having with the group. Just lay it all out there for the parents and let them know this is a very serious matter. All my parents do read the newsletter so I don't have any worry about that.

I have a list of the things I'm dealing with and continue to add to it when something arises. So have any of you ever written a newsletter like this? I was also thinking that after this one, maybe having a section called "Working On..." and maybe pick two things that we are trying to work on for behaviors.

I do something similar to this... But I send out weekly reminders...

If I am having an issue...for example everyone keeps forgetting to lock my front door when leaving, I will put this in the reminders.

Example... (I send my emails out every sunday)

What's going on this week is always the subject title and I always send out with email address in the BCC.

    Hello families,
Hope everyone is having an outstanding weekend ( you know talk about the weather type stuff)
Here is what is going on this week:
Then I will type out anything super important what is going on that week on a certain day. EXAMPLE:
Tuesday- Field trip to the library
    Thursday- Show and tell day
Friday- Something blue, wear your favorite blue shirt, pants, or hat to celebrate this weeks color.

Then I end it with a few friendly reminders:
Please help keep our kids safe by locking the door when leaving. Lately, it has not been locked.

Also, don't forget that field trip money for the zoo is due by 3/02/2012, when the week comes up, I will put this in the top section of what is going on this week. example if its due on a wednesday, I will put it in there that week.

Any concerns or questions, please feel free to ask,

    DCP

Hope this helps some,,, Iknow what works for me may not work for you, just wanted to share...

I have a "policy reminders" section in my newsletter where I pick one or two that seem to be an issue. Although, I'll be the first to admit, I think it needs to get changed up abit. Some parents dont seem to read it.

I wouldn't send anything, it will make you look like your incompetent and have no control of the children. I think you need to sit down and find out why are the children behaving this way. Post some issues lets see if we can help as a group, maybe its your set up.

I have posted lots on this little group and tried 95% of the suggestions. Short of terming everyone one I'm not sure what to do. This is the first group in 17 years that I have had this many issues with. Its not just one its probably 5 out of the 6-.

The majority of this group is either only children or the youngest with many years in between them and the next sibling. The only playtime the majority of them get with other children is here. They all act like they can't handle the stimulation of being around other children the same age or close in the same age.
