You're welcome, I hope I was able to help with some ideas. So sad! When I give new clothes and even the new shoes DCG would show me EVERY DAY proudly "See See I got new shoes See??" or the shirt, pants.. See seee? God love her!

I have even saw children well groomed be taken home and put to bed. Someday parents will regret it. Here I am a SAHM and I still feel bad for not giving my son more attention and making him share his home. Like now I feel guilty browsing the forum but I need that unwind time. Now in 10 mins he will be done with his shower, get a snack, we may talk a little more about his day then read a book together or watch a little TV/video together and off to bed. My son is 10 BTW.

      Good luck to you!

Long time ago I had a little boy who was "dirty". It broke my heart because it was my 5 year old son who called him out "Eewwww, your breath smells like poo! Don't you use mouthwash?!" I was so embarrassed for the little guy. I am non-confrontational so I didn't know how to bring it up to mom. I just started washing his clothes, washing his face, teaching him how to brush his own teeth properly. I put in the newsletter that we would be starting a food science unit and would be cooking every day and I would be cleaning the kids up afterwards if necessary... which we did... except he would be washed and changed well before that. When mom picked up I would tell her how we made this and that (gave her a sample) and the kids got messy and washed up. During the summer we did water play in the backyard and I put bubble bath in the pools and water tables. I'm not totally naive and I'm sure mom knew SOMETHING was amiss but she never brought it up and neither did I. I know J felt better, too. He and my son got along a lot better once he was clean. It also helped me become a better provider. I started providing toothbrushes and toothpaste for after breakfast and lunch to help the kids learn proper oral hygiene. I probably never would've started that if I weren't for that young man. He made me better! I know you'll come up with something. I love how you care for this young man!

I have washed them with a washcloth, and lotioned them up with bath and body works. We use lotion daily here because they wash their hands do much.
