      Tadpoles

Just recently got an email about an iphone app called tadpoles which can be used specifically by daycares to track attandance and send daily reports to parents. Have not implemented it yet at the school but would like to know if anyone else has used it.

I got my first smart phone this fall - I've had a cell phone since my kids were in High School - it's just cheaper that way, and when they were driving and out with friends, I felt better having a two-way form of communication (walkie-talkies are so passe)

The Samsung Galaxy was one I was debating about, but I ended up with the Motorola Milestone X. I got a great deal on it on black Friday happyface

So far I'm loving it! I have a few apps, but none I've used with the daycare yet. Mostly things like weather (which I do use for daycare) and texting parents.

I also gave up my internet and use my hotspot exclusively. So far it's working OK, but I had really slow internet before. I was even able to catch some of the reruns of the Scottsdale Auction!

Mostly I'm just happy to be able to be texting and on the internet all on one device. Very convenient.

I can't get a smart phone until they float, are waterproof, fireproof, and can stand up to being run over by a literal freight liner truck..... I stick to Free Refurbs.

          I am HORRIBLY destructive....

I lost one to a brush fire (mostly melted and still worked :, one to a mop bucket with wax, ran over one in a med unit after I dropped it, the neighbors dog ate one, two are at the bottom of the lake...... My current one has 4 letters that don't work in text from constant drops.

I am pretty sure they won't even sell me the insurance anymore after this year....

Do they have an APP for that??????????

They do make smart phones that are military grade for people like you My DH has one. It is shockproof, waterproof and sort of indestructible. I don't think fireproof is in the list of things it covers though so you are outta luck with that one....

This is the one DH has:http://www.coolsmartphone.com/2011/0...hone-by-casio/

I thought that was a trick question. Here, that's like saying "who has a car".
:: HUbs and I don't have cell phones. No car either. And no credit cards. Everyone thinks we're insane... but really, I think we're much saner because of it

I don't have a car but did when I was married. I don't drive due to a phobia. How do you and DH get around? My Mother lives close by so we do our shopping and things together.

I've had a cell since they were about the size of a coke can! :: And a home landline. The cell is great for me I have all the kids numbers in there for when we go out. The parents and I text which I don't mind but sometimes some parents abuse it sending stupid fwd jokes and chain letter crap. I love being able to have it so I can take pics anytime of the kids and send them to parents or email them to my PC and use them for crafts and newsletters.

No credit cards here! If I can't afford it then I don't need it. Too much trouble and yes it does keep us saner! ::

Are you my daughter in "disguise"???? She got the "good" insurance on her camera because she and electronics have the same issue - with her camera it was a mud puddle, and her wrist strap broke once (the insurance has definitely paid for itself)

The last incident with her phone was chicken soup - yep - it ended up in it. Chicken soup does NOT cure a phone virus. I promise..... ::::::

Same here. I'm beginning to feel like a dinosaur! I have a pay-as-you-go phone that costs $20 every 3 months. I bought it for emergencies and use it every now and then for convenience - that's it.
