I'm not questioning the job. I'm questioning whether or not the kids have recently been in day care.

It's not uncommon for the state paid clients to leave their kids in care in between their jobs.

I would ask the older kids if the baby has ever been in day care.

............Then she asked if I could not put him on the floor unless I am sitting right beside him and again I said no because he needs to explore and I don't need to be right by his side. She told me her older son was really upset that the toddler hit baby and she wants the baby to be protected
Ok, I am with daycare Mom on this one. If you aren't going to keep the baby safe from marauding toddlers by putting him in a play yard or play pen then YOU DO NEED TO SIT BESIDE HIM. #1 job = keep kids safe.
