Venting Thread

Less than one month before my current dcks leave. One will go to 4k and the other turns 2 in a few weeks and is going to a center. The 4 yo dcb is so sassy and disrespectful and he just laughs about it. The almost 2 yo dcg won't give me eye contact and has not shown any affection to me since starting at 6 weeks old. And has cried when i lay her down for naps for what seems like everyday sinice she's started here. She never has cared that dad leaves her here and very rarely plays. She'll watch others play or just chew on toys. September can't come soon enough.

Totally off topic...
Thank you DH for just now telling me the friend is coming over for dinner. Nap time is over, and i have zero time to get things cleaned. Or shower. Or cook anything because like I told him this MORNING we do not have enough of anything and need to go to the store. So now he's stopping at the store after work, i have to throw it together at an awful time of day for my own kids and try not to completely loose it on him in front of company.
Seriously, all week, you have had ALL week to plan this with several reminders. So not impressed right now.

ANY time a parent says they are picking up early, I hand them a Post-it note. I have them write down the time they are coming. That (the post it note) becomes their newly adjusted written schedule.

In other words, if they don't pick up early (the time they wrote down) they are late. .....and subject to my regular late fee ($1 per minute)

Also if I KNOW a parent isn't working I don't care if they use daycare for the day but I make sure they know their child canNOT be the last pick up or the first drop off of the day.

I operate on contracted hours so I don't usually have issues with not knowing when a parent will be here to drop off or pick up but the above strategies are useful when "I'll pick up early" is as real as the Toothfairy.

Excellent idea! What do you do when the other parent is picking up and the dropping off parent says the picking up parent *may* pick up early if they can?

Just got back from the Walk in clinic and I have Strep
Guess who won't be open tomorrow because I just got the antibiotic & the 24 hr rule applies. I know one parent that will be highly upset, but hey, I'm human too

...WOULD THE PARENTS JUST PAY ME!!!!... I seriously want to cry! Every week I have at least three that owe me and I have to hassle them and feel like I'm harassing them to get paid! They all have until Sunday at noon before I charge a late fee, but this week I'm at my wits end! Soooo frustrating!!!

Most of my parents pay me monthly (no later than child's drop off time the first of month); My weekly pay clients owe me the next weeks fee by pick up time the last day their child attends each week. I do not accept payments on the weekend either - You don't pay on time your contract automatically gets changed to Drop-in status & I start calling people on the waitlist. Only had one issue in 6 years

They're paying you late because you are allowing them to do so without penalty.

Dear dcp's,

Effective 8/5/2016 all payments are due on Friday by 6pm (or whenever you close). Late fees in the amount of $X will be charged for each day late. Your child will not be admitted back into care until payment, including late fees are paid in full.

cut off from work went to go enroll my daughter in to the school district in which the daycare was located she attended the same school last year and rode the bus to and from school from the daycare after the enrollment I went to the daycare to pick her up and was handed a letter that states I am no longer going to be able to care for your daughter at the daycare anymore effective August 1st I am no longer going to be able to care for children who do not have younger siblings currently enrolled here at the daycare we have truly enjoyed caring for your daughter over the years but I have such a huge number of new kindergarten children going to school that have younger siblings here in preschool that I am having to change her after school policy she has been at the stake here for the past three years can they legally do this or would it be discriminating

This run-on sentence/paragraph was literally painful to read and interpret... I had to go back and re-read it to discern where the periods should be, just so I could understand it properly!:confused:

I am so stressed, tired, beyond exhausted, and I am getting snappy with DH. I just want to cry honestly. I can't wait for this all to be over. Taking it easy with the kids tomorrow and looking forward to my massage Sat. Sorry just needed to vent.

What a day. I've had no voice for the last two days from being sick, it's been much better today but still could be better!

Around 10am I cut my head removing a support bar for some closet shelving in my service porch. DH had to come home and I ended up at urgent care. Fortunately it only needed to be glued. Day has been pretty shot with the kids watching a movie for the second time this week (the first being Monday when I was still pretty sick).

To top it off DCG3 had two accidents right next to each other. She's been potty trained like a year so :confused: back to pull-ups again I guess
