    Small Steps to Better Health

I've decided to journal my journey into better health and I hope others will join me!

    Day 1

    Weight: 156 lbs
    Waist: 39 inches
    Thighs:24 inches
    Chest: 39 1/2

Drank a pepsi this morning. I know but I don't drink coffee and need a little pick me up in the mornings.

Walked with the kiddos about 1/2 a mile.

For snack I had a 1/2 pear (fresh) and a few slices of cheese off of the small block we buy.

Then we went outside for about an hour. In this hour I managed to drink 40oz of water! Gooooooo MEEEEE!happyface

For lunch I had a cheese quesidella (about 1/2 a totilla), 1/2 a green pepper and also a plum. I then managed to drink another 40 oz. in the next hour or so.

Dinner was chicken alfredo, steamed carrots with rolls. OK, I broke down and had another pepsi. Our air conditioner broke and it was so hot in the house.

After dinner I walked for maybe a mile? It might only be about 3/4 of a mile but better then nothing.

    Day 1

    Weight: 165 lbs
    Waist: 34"
    Thighs:25"
    Chest: 37"

    I'm curvy & kinda short (I'm 5'3")

My issue isn't that I eat badly, because I don't. It's that I don't eat. period. I forget. I just don't feel hungry all day. I think my body goes into starvation mode so my metabolism is basically stalled out.

Yesterday @ breakfast (which I have been forcing myself to do) I had a fruit/veggie smoothie. Had 2 pieces of celery w/pnb @ lunch with 2 slices of white cheddar. For dinner; grilled chicken breast, steamed cauliflower & wild rice w/roasted red peppers. Drank water all day.

I walk daily w/the DCK's (2.5-3 miles) Last night went on pontoon & swam about an hour (not laps but swimming in the middle of the lake). Every night DH & I walk around our property, about 1.5 miles. I use my elliptical for 30-45 minutes each night.

I'm going to try & step up the eating & see what happens if I can focus on getting my metabolism moving a little bit anyways.

Height-5'4" (I only put this because it really shows how much I NEED to lose)
      Weight: 206 (I know. right?)
      Waist: Unsure-will have sister measure
      Thighs:Unsure-will have sister measure
Chest: 2 watermelons! :: :: I will seriously measure haha.

Breakfast-1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice whole wheat toast with 1 teaspoon PB.
Lunch-Whole wheat cheese quesadilla, cherries, celery sticks
Dinner-Ham cubes, scrambled eggs, green peppers, little cheese on the top
Drinks-1 12 oz cup of black coffee, and water. Lots and lots of water, I reuse my DH's Powerade bottles for water I think I had 5 yesterday.

Eating isn't my issue, it's the staying active part I really just need the motivation to get off of my rump after hours and DO something! We walk every day here, but I'm thinking of changing our walk time to earlier in the morning so we can stretch the walk a tad more.

ok, so I guess im on board with this better health thing....

        current wieght: 139
        Height: 5'4

Before I started my diet I was 150. Then I started my new lifestyle by cutting out all sugar and all breads and rice. Yes, even crackers and cereal. I also have stopped eating potatoes except an occasional sweet potato. Basically I cut out all bad carbs.

It takes a lot of perserverance but Im happy with my progress so far. I am now in the middle of my 3rd month of this. I have a very slow metabolism so Im planning on just staying on this road for the long haul. Now Im aiming at sticking to a workout regimine of some kind.
