    Bumps And Bruises

It seems that every day lately someone is going home with some sort of bump of bruise. It's either my 9 month old learning to stand, my 12 month old learning to walk, my 18 month old trying to run, or my 2 year old stealing toys and running away (and tripping, and running into a wall). Nothing serious of course, just a small bump or bruise, but I always wonder if parents think I'm not paying enough attention to their kid? I am extra vigilente about watching everyone very carefully and creating a safe environment. It seems like every time something happens I'm sitting right there! Can anyone relate? Maybe I'm paying too much attention and should not be so worried about it?

I think every parent understands that falling down and running into things is just part of being a child. Exploration sometimes ends in a boo-boo. I would be more worried as a parent if my kid came home perfectly clean and never had a mark on him. That would show me that they weren't doing much each day.

before I started a daycare, my son was a full timer at a home daycare, and he came home with bruises and scratches all the time, one time I even picked him up and had to get him staples in his head.......and you know what, I never thought anything of it, I thought my 1 1/2-2 year old is exactly that, a little kid, or older kid doesnt matter, they get hurt............but I know what your saying, when its alot especially on one child you start to wonder, "boy I hope they don't ever wonder If I'm hurting their child, or not paying attention to them" but when I was just a daycare kids mom I never did.
