Crock pots are so easy, a kid could put together a meal. Throw in veggies, water, a roast and some seasoning....maybe 15 minutes prep time at the most and then you have a full meal right there when you get home. It would be FASTER at that point then trying to hit the drive thru dinner rush.
    For some people cooking is really as easy as that, but for some it isn't. It is not an excuse for not cooking healthy meals, but personally cooking is hard. I really don't know what to cook, how long to cook it for, what seasonings to put on it, etc. If I want to cook something I have to find a recipe that has all the instructions, or I am lost. And even then it takes a long time to finish a meal (usually close to an hour).

    It's a good thing that right now my husband and I have no one to cook for but ourselves.

      Sunshine, do you have a slow cooker or a crockpot??? Thats what makes meals for a lot of people so quick..l and if you google slow cooker recipes it will give you thousands of them..then prep time is about 15 minutes max and it cooks while you sleep

        Not to mention you can adapt any recipe you'd cook on the stove to a slow cooker recipe like spaghetti for instance, meat loaf, lasagna, really anything at all.

          I completely agree with this thread. I took 2 of my kids to McDonald's a couple days ago. A 4yr old, 5yr old and myself for one meal was almost 16 bucks. For 16 bucks at sams club for example I could make dinner for the entire family (5 of us) and have enough left for lunch the next day.

            sunshine you can do it make a list of things you CAN cook then go to the library and find a cookbook you like... one for kids, or a beginner cook book there are lots of them

            Then learn one new food at a time... I remember my sister learning to make a white sauce over and over we had gravies but that sauce was a basic used in many other foods...

            Or find someone to teach you... I still remember the little old lady when I was first married she had me come down one day and learn to make noodles... some day honey you will be broke and have a little flour and 1 egg. You can make these noodle to fill up that man even if you only have some veggies and one piece of meat to go with it....

            ok I never had to only feed my man noodles for dinner but I could have after our afternoon in her kitchen LOL:hug:
            It:: will wait
