I don't know who was more irritating today, the kids or the parents. First parent of the day, kid crying at drop off. Oh just gave him a "snack" so he'll need breakfast. Same thing every time. I've talked about him before on here and how they don't feed him breakfast even though he's been up about 1 1/2 hrs. Next one comes in fine, but mom says that we're trying to break him of the pacifier. Fine, no problem. Keep it from him all day except at nap. She picks him up and he reaches for the diaper bag and instantly she gives him the pacifier. Guess we're only not letting him have it when he's with me. He's 19 months. Another dcb has been whining and crying during naptime (2 years old) and I watch him today and it's because he can't breath through his nose when laying down. He's all stuffed up. Tell mom this and her answer is that she'll bring his favorite stuffed animal tomorrow. UGH, that is not going to help his nose. Other dcb is flapping during nap, go in and tell him night night and he starts a holy fit. He's 18 months old. I need a drink!!

As for paci child, I'd ask her to let you know when she is stopping the usage of it at home and that you'll follow her lead at that point in time. -
I told my husband that I'm not taking it away from him tomorrow. I said, screw it, why should I. He said yes you will, you'll keep it away from him and that just because she gave it to him doesn't mean I should give it to him. I said, that's exactly why I should give it to him. I asked her, what is that in his mouth? She says, oh he was grabbing for it. I said loud enough standing right next to her UGH!Comment

Honestly, I would have told her right then and there that I had struggled all day because she had asked me to keep it away from him and that I didn't appreciate her not following through. And I would have repeated that parent and DC cooperation and communication is what I consider THE MOST IMPORTANT THING for these kids. Then I would have said that when she was keeping it away at home, I'd be glad to assist HER training, but I would not do the training myself.
I can be pretty B___Y when I want to...... or when I don't want to.......

I'm waiting to see if he walks in with it this moring. I am definately tell her that when she is ready to restrict it at home, I will do the same here. I will not do it until that happens. I don't care if he has it or not. Keeps more toys out of his mouth when he does use it

Well, he came with it in his mouth. Then she tells him to go put it in his bed. He of course didn't want to do that. I asked her when she walked in, what is that in his mouth? Are we not keeping it away from him? She said, welllll, we're doing the natural process of restricting it. Meaning that basically he will decide if he wants it or not. I said, well I thought you told me yesterday that I should keep it away from him. She didn't say anything. I said, well, when you're ready to keep it away from him, let me know. He has it right now.Comment

Put the pacifier back in his bag and he bit another dcg. The pacifier went back in his mouth!Comment
