Also, when we spoke on the phone Thursday, when she had told me she was going to be absent Friday, I told her to get a Dr's note . She had gone back to the Dr again and that was when they found out it was s virus. She said ( in her text) that she is on day 4 so when she comes back this coning Friday she won't be contagious. I believe that by then she won't be. But how do I do I really know it is day 4 if she had a high fever Fri and went to the Dr again that day ? Would Friday still count as day 2 , if she gets another fever ?
I am planning to put it in writing that there is a stricter illness policy to protect everyone . She is the one who had a cold for 4+ weeks with green snot that I had to suction out every day she came so she wouldn't smear it everywhere. She came with an unexplained rash and the next day was absent because they found out it was scarlet fever, even though she didn't have a fever or other symptoms . Its unfortunate she gets sicker more often. But I have to still put something in place to protect the other babies and my son. So Thursday , that's why I said if she goes to the Dr again, please get a Drs note. Mainly so I can see what the Dr says it is in writing, and not just from moms word.
I use words like please because I know I can come off very blunt so I try to add please and thank you's so my words don't sound too abrasive or like I don't care. So I have a feeling she is not planning to bring a dr note since she said what she said .
I think I read something on here about a rule to get their shots 2days before they come back into care, as a safeguard so if there is a seizure or fever, the child can be at home /not have to be sent home. And the provider bot be held liable for anything like that as well. So I will be making that rule. The boy I have gets fevers after his shots, and his mom brought him into care admitting he woke up that morning with a 103 fever. He didn't have one with me and I figured it was ok because its just from shots, but that was before I read another thread about making that rule.
So yes, some new policies will have to take place, as soon as I can get something written up.
