    Hello

Hi, I'm thinking about starting an in-home preschool but I think I'm cutting it too close to the start of the school year. Don't think I'll ever get licensed in less than a month.

I was trying to avoid doing daycare because I homeschool and I'm going to need some time to educate my children.

I'm getting a little scared looking at the posts here with all the nightmare parents and really bad kids.

Anyway, I just thought I'd check out this forum in case I ever run into any problems. Hope to get to know you all.

    New here too!

    Hi and welcome,

I am new to the forums and new to starting my own child care in home! I am just getting started and recently got licensed. I still have lots of things I need to do, but I will probably always feel like that ,haha.

I would really think about the time needed for homeschooling your own kids as the daycare kids will demand much of your time as they should be getting if you are getting paid to care for them. I always tried to think about the best interests of my son when he was younger in regard to what I did workwise. I quit a daycare because my son was in headstart and there all day, then came to the center I worked at and was there until closing. I didn't feel like that was best for him to be in a center all day and into the evening.

That being said, you will have the choice to keep a family or not but then you also have to look at the money and if you can do without until you replace a spot if it isn't working out for all involved.

    Welcome again!

    Jen
