Preparing to Set up Shop in Indiana

Hi Everybody,
I am preparing to open a home preschool/daycare. I am planning on starting as an unlicensed business (no more than 5 children) The questions I have are:

1) Since I don't plan to be licensed with the state (yet), do I still need a city business license or zoning permit?

2) Is there anyone out there who is unlicensed and operates as an LLC? If so, how did you start? Any suggestions?

Hi! I contacted my city to see if there was anything I needed to do with them, I didn't. But, obviously it might be different from area to area.

I've done business in Indiana (Lake County) for the last 3yrs and my area didnt require any zoning or business license just simply state & fire dept approval! check with your own local municipalities or authorities because it may vary.....
