    Home daycare disqualifications

Hello i am wanting to start a home day care next year and i wanted to know if my husband would disqualify me because of his felony in the state of texas. He has a drug possesion charge. He went to prison for about 9 months and has completed parole and has not been into any trouble since.

I know in my state you can apply for a license if you or someone in your home is a convicted felon, but you have to justify why you feel you can have a license. I think they look at how long ago the conviction was, what it was for, etc.

I'm also in Texas, and yes, I think that would disqualify you. To be sure, you can check the standards.

Under the type of license I have yes, it would disqualify you. Maybe you could work at a daycare center? Or be assistant to type A fcc?
