hello. i opperate a small licensed daycare out of my home. i have a rare day with no daycare children so i thought id finally login as ive been lurking and reading whenever i can. also im on my cell so sorry about any errors.
i have a sibling set i have been watching since the summer. real good kids. their mother is an exceptional client and the hours are awsome. they attend tge school close to my place even though they live in another area. so mom and dad are going threw a divorce and custody is split by every other week from every other weekend. this will start in the summer. but this spring break dad had the kids. he seems like a good guy but the hours he needs are earlier and longer. i only have a contract with the mother. so thins week i wrote up a quick this week only contrat that he would pay for the extra earlier hours .... ok its only like 45 minuets earlier but wgen they r here till closing time and then there was no school this week..... just too long of a day for me and my own children who cant even sleep in. they wake up very early on tgeir days off of school and its leaving everyone grumpy. i think ive been spoild by the moms early pick ups. so dad pays the difference but mentions its quite a bit. he also mentions his girlfriend who will be having her own baby at yhe end of the month is a lawyer and tgey have money to spend. ok then. so he fosent know whst will happen in tgevsummer but gurlfriend can drive tgem later as she will be on maternity. dsd could cgange his hours?regardless im willing to do the earlier hours but at a cost. i have four of my own kids the yougest is two monthes old he sleeps best in the early morning hours. i decided to continue daycare instead of going on self employed ei because the families that i gave right now are wonderful. i did term ine child when by baby came because of the hours first one dropped cause i agreed to 615 drop off and he was always the last to be picked up. so i do like my down time.... exscuses so i dont feel guilty even though i know i shouldent.
so my hours are 730am to 530pm. dad wasnts to drop off at 645. 45 minuets earlier and woldent get picked u till closing time. other daycare kids schedusls are like 8 to 4.
how much would you charge dad for the earlier hours? i charged $5 per child per half hour ir portion of.... every other week thats an extra $100 is that excessive? what about 2.50 per child 15 minuets. $75 a week then. it all adds up. so what would you do?
