I'm new to this forum! But, been doing home daycare for about 10.5 yrs. now.
I currently have a child who will be turning 1 on Nov. 9, and I've had him since Aug. of this year. I feel that's PLENTY of time to be adjusted to DC. He is such a handful, and flat out STRESSFUL!!!
I've got 5 kids total... 4 are 2 yrs. old, and then this 11 mo. old baby. He was absent yesterday, and it was so nice in the house without him! I really hate to say it that way, but it's the truth. The child will pretty much cry from the time that I start to set him down after the parent leaves, till after snack time. For some unknown reason, he doesn't cry as much after snack (usually snack is over by 3-3:15)... but, then he leaves an hour later! So, we're talking maybe ONE GOOD HOUR a day!
He does not nap more than about 30 minutes, and that is THE ONLY NAP each day.
I make him lay down on his own, no rocking... he HAS learned to go to sleep pretty fast on his own, just won't stay asleep for long enough to get a decent nap. I have had to put him in a separate room upstairs w/ the door closed, then put a loud fan and lullaby music in the other nap room down stairs for the rest of the DC kids just to drown out all of his screaming when he wakes up. The rest of the kids will easily sleep atleast 2 hrs. and sometimes longer.
He is a breastfed baby. He WILL NOT take any kind of bottle or cup, no pacifier, etc. This is super frustrating... just getting a drink down him is a fight... literally, I have to basically hold him down and just pour the liquid in his mouth and then he just lets most of it run back out, or spits it all over me... GROSS! But, he will eat foods though.
I just don't know how much longer I can last with him.
What should I do?!?!?!?!?! I'm beyond frustrated!!!
