    New And Have A Question!

Where can I find how many children I'm allowed to watch without being licensed? I did research on google and found I can watch 4 but an actual licensed care provider told me its only 1.

I want to be licensed some day but just dont have the money to go through the process right now.

Here is the where I found it says 4...

Go to page 5 and its number 18

    On page 5 it says:

    18. Do I need a license to care for children in my home?

    Answer:
You can have up to four within your home without being licensed; however, more than four will require that you are licensed with the state

Which to me says 4 but maybe just to be sure you should call the licensing department in your state.

You might also want to check about the cost of the licensing process. Many states do not charge providers to become licensed.

Here is a link to DSF for Nevada child care licensing requirments and rules. (It's long so you'll have to do the reading) http://health.nv.gov/childcare/docum...A_Codified.pdf

It used to depend on what city and county you lived in, as every jurisdiction had different rules. So you might need to check which county you are in.

In Las Vegas you can have up to 4 children without a license. This just changed 2 years ago. City, Clark County and State all had their own licensing procedures, and Clark County and City both would not allow you to care for any children on a regular basis without being licensed. 2 Years ago the state took over city of Las Vegas and Clark County jurisdiction and within the NV State jurisdiction you can have 4 unlicensed.

Licensing does cost, for background check, sheriffs card, health card, licensing fees, etc. Plus all the proper equipment, childproofing and any other supplies you may need.

      Hope this helps.
