New With Some Questions

Hi! I've been checking out this for a little awhile. What a great place! I do have a few questions that I'm hoping someone can answer for me.
Before I had my kids, I used to work at a daycare. I really loved it. After I had my kids, I became a stay at home mom. Now that my kids are older, my youngest is 4. I've been thinking of starting my own in-home childcare business. Is a license required? Would my own kids count? I was thinking of starting out small, like maybe 2or 3 kids and then maybe go from there.
