Background Check On Parents?

Well this morning this lady calls me and leaves a message & emails me. She sounded really rude on the message & pretty demanding that she wanted to come tour right now today - not really asking me - just telling me. Anyway I googled her and found her picture on Mugshots.com with her arrest record!!! I never heard of this website. But sure enough its her because it matches up with her face on FB. She has an awful mugshot photo and spent 4 years in prison for selling cocaine! She just got out a couple years ago... Long enough to have that baby I guess. Crazy!

Anyway - does anyone google prospective parents? Ever found anything weird? Any other websites other than Facebook that I can find info? Prospective daycare parents probably do background checks on us before hiring us, so why not do one on them since they will in & out of our homes & could possibly rip us off, right? Well thats what I think anyway

I have been using Facebook to see if I can find out more about them. Oddly enough I have been getting no show potential clients and inquiring phone calls but when I return the call to see why they didn't show I must have the wrong number. Turns out "they let a coworker borrow their phone maybe it was them" ...

I think a scorned DCM that I recently termed is behind it. There's a mutual aquaintence that has a baby waiting to enter my daycare. (I dont take infants) Old DCM keeps asking her if I enrolled her kid yet. Some people are just creepy!

Now I require 2 call back phone numbers and call back in 5 minutes and explain I wanted to be sure I wrote the right number down.

Thanks for the idea of mugshots! I never thought of doing THAT far but good idea!!

I got a cool APP on my iPhone today too... It was free and called "CriminalPages". You can either type in a name or search your area for criminals, sex offenders and more. I made an awful discovery when looking at my neighborhood. Turns out our old pest control guy - we have a new one now due to a move - is a registered sex offender!!!! WTH?!?! That is so freaky. I would advise checking this app out and Megans Law website regularly for sure.

Thats weird how people are. I know what you mean though. I had a lady call me from different #'s once trying to "catch" me off guard I guess. I told her I was full and I think she was trying from different #'s and changing her voice to ask again if I was full! haha. I found out that was the case when I looked her # up on Google and discovered it was her cell, her husbands cell and then her home phone. She wasn't very slick. Too funny.

Mu husband is a corrections officer at the jail so I always try my hardest to find anything on them on the internet. So far we haven't had any of his "cliental". My husband usually leaves for the initial interview so I can get a feel for them. Plus if we don't end up taking them and they have been in jail we don't want them to tell their "friends" where we live. Spokeo is another website I have heard of. I love Spokeo. I use that too. I made sure to remove myself though. It freaked me out that it showed so much info on me.

How did you remove yourself. It showed everything about me including a picture of my house!

First go to the Spokeo site and find yourself.
When you find yourself - COPY the url link in your search bar (the url address for your listing) that shows up when your info is on the screen.
Open this Spokeo page on a separate screen (It's privacy page): http://www.spokeo.com/privacy
Scroll towards the bottom of the page & you will see a section that says "Removing your Listing from Spokeo".
PASTE your URL address from your listing in the first box...
Then enter your email address in the 2nd box
Enter the code in the 3rd box
You will then get a confirmation email in your email and you will have to click on a link on there to confirm it was deleted (or OPT OUT). You have to do that or it wont complete
You should then get a pop up that your profile (or URL) has been deleted
