    Parent Info Boards

    Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone uses a parent info board. If so what kind of things do you put on it. Do you change it each week or each month?

    Thanks,

Mine has the most current newsletter, the menu for the week, local event posters/information, the current WIC info (required to be available by food program), the payment collection envelope (I just use a manilla envelope and a tack on the board), my childcare association certificates, our current daily schedule, and then on the walls next to it are different things depending on what is going on. The extras I currently have up are a copy of last year's childcare provider appreciation day proclamation, the school lunch menu for the schoolagers, and a spot for the afterschool activity calendar for when it arrives this week from school. I have another spot where I have a big poster frame with my license, my cpr/first aid cards and my other achievement certificates (cda, quality enhancement program completion, my training level for our statewide training system, my star 3 certificiate from our quality rating system pilot program and my national childcare teacher award from last spring.

I change out the information on the parent side as needed. I remove the community events when they pass and post new ones when I get the information, I put up the newsletter when I put it in the cubbies and I post the menu each Sunday night for the coming week.

Right now I have a board that has the child care laws and regs that must be posted per the state, schedule, fire drill and other emergency number info, meal requirement info for parents. I also have my licensce framed and my early childhood certification level certificate and when I can get my hands on where i put my copy of my teaching license or get another I will frame it and hang it up there too.

I use one and I have a calendar with the month's events/holidays/availability, my holiday schedule (days that the daycare is closed), a notice that I'm required to have up per licensing (CA), the week's attendance schedule (more for my benefit, I like to see what my week is going to look like and arrival/departure times), our daily routine schedule, the week's menu, this month's current newsletter, and a notice reminding parents that I will closed on MONDAY!!!!
