    Never Clean Enough....

Do any of you ever feel like your house just never is clean?? Lately I am so grossed out by typical kid mess. Meal time is the worst. I have a large group of young self feeders, so after every meal I feel like I can't clean things enough. I don't even want to eat at my own table at night time!!

The drool, snot, and just general grossness is getting to me. If I have to wipe boogers off my couch again, I swear I am going to turn into one of those old ladies who covers her furniture in plastic!! In all seriousness, I am strongly considering buying sheets to cover the furniture during the day.

Maybe I need to do a severe fall clean up?? Anyone else get the dirty blues??

I know exactly what you mean! The other day, I put my plate of lunch on the table next to a four-year-old and sat down to eat. Before I could even take a bite, he sneezed and I got "sprayed" up and down my arm, so I'm sure it also covered my food. I almost barfed, immediately threw my food away and grabbed the canister of Clorox wipes. Yuck!!

i get the same way....twice a year. now, after a long summer of extra kids, extra mess, dirt, sand, etc. and again after winter flu/snot season.

i always take a day or two off, or even plan a weekend, at the end of each season to completely scrub the house from top to bottom.

I also lately feel like I can't seem to get on top of things- even though all I do is clean, clean and clean some more. I would love to close early on Friday to get a handle on it- my weekends and evenings are always super busy, or hire a bi- weekly cleaning service that would be bliss )

i feel that way about my whole house! I'm embarrassed cause the beginning of the week my house will look nice and clean and as the week goes on the mess and clutter gets bigger and bigger! I feel embarrassed as the families have to walk into the main part of my house to drop off.

Yes! I feel the same way. And I also understand about feeling like the mess and yuck just gets bigger and bigger as the week goes on. I try to keep up with it on the weekend, but I have so much going on I cannot right now.

I know exactly how you feel!!! I clean all the time, it's never enough! I wipe things down with Clorox wipes as needed then again during nap when I also clean counters and do dishes, sweep, and even some toys get wiped down at that time. Then after the kids leave I wipe again with wipes and spray what can't be wiped so well. Scrub sinks and toilet. I sweep and mop every night. Weekends are my big clean I clean everything! Kids arrive Monday morning and it all starts again!

I think my problem is my paranoia of germs from the kids especially when they are ill, snotty, and sneezing/coughing all over everything. I tell them to cover the coughs and sneezes but they don't until after the fact. I say bless u but cover it. THEN they cover and say achoo!

I tell ya I should take stock in Clorox wipes!

When it's nice out we do as much as possible outside. We're inside for potty/diaper changes, meal prep and naps. The kids eat and do crafts at the picnic table on the grass, then I can just wipe it or hose it down & not worry about the mess underneath. The squirrels & birds take care of that.
Bad weather is a different story. I feel like I clean all the time, but the house seems to be a write-off by the end of the week. I try to keep the kids off of the upholstered furniture due to snot & slobber...I never feel like that can be cleaned up well enough.

ITA but I can't keep them off

You know what we need? Those rooms that have the flip down wall/floor that makes a whole new wondeful room appear and hides the basic and it can be flipped back for daycare. :: I'm goofy today I know I just see it in my mind from a cartoon or something.

I feel ya, Sister! And I always feel like parents have an expectation to walk in to a neat, clean, organized, clutter free home... And that I forever am not living up to the expectation! Lol!! But, with 6-8 kids at my house, what do I expect, really??

I hear ya! even when i spend hours on sunday cleaning and things I just cant keep up. Dusting, gunk, hidden gunk.

I however must be mean because no one is allowed on my couch, unless I say they can. Usually its just school agers at nap time. There is enough "little" furniture for them, couches, chair, bean bags, etc. Plus my couch is in the "baby room" and by tv which is hardly ever on so the older kids arent in here.

I agree that I feel like things are not clean enough, ever. After seeing what a small group of children are capable of germing, , I didn't think twice about keeping my own home daycare completely separate from my personal space. I'm extremely happy with my decision to make my home setup like a center because I don't want my personal furniture getting so messy. I just can't handle it.

its my rug. With it being summer no one wears socks or shoes and everyones feet are so dirty, heck I have kids who come with dirty feet, I need to again shampoo my rug.

I have a box of wipes right at the door just for dirty feet! Everytime we come in from outside the kids know they need to take off their sandals and wipe their feet. I can't stand gross feet!

I totally understand. I will never complain about buying wipes. I use them ALL the time. I get so anxious about the kids mess, the kitchen mess... I am getting really irritable and anxious. I am missing out on fun times with the kids becuase I am so wrapped up in what I need to be doing or cleaning.

I am going to ask the dr for some anti anxiety meds.
