We are in Chicago - the going rate around here is about $20/hour so it depends how long it takes them to clean your house.... We were spending about $100 each visit.
The price is going to depend on the size of your house (how many bedrooms and bathrooms) and what you want done, but I think around $100 is average.
I only use a cleaning service once a month to do heavy duty things like ceilings, windows, baseboards, behind appliances ect. It is $100 well spent in my opinion... Makes it easier for
Me to stay on top of things daily.
They are called left hand and right hand.......::::
Tell me about it ::::::::
I looked into it and in my area it would be $80 an hour . Thanks but no thanks. I'll pay my sister to clean my house for like $10 an hour ::. I would only use the cleaning service for the heavy duty stuff to like windows, baseboards, walls etc. The stuff that I don't normally have time to do.
I ask, really, because I'm considering offering my services for cleaning...not because I can afford to pay someone to clean.
Still no kids, school is one week away....
Well that could deffinately be an option. I always said that if DC didn't work out I could always clean houses.... but then I heard how much window washers make. A friend of mine that cleans houses (for $80 an hour) says that she has a guy that she often partners with that does windows and he charges $200 a day . That's per house and he has it down to a science and can complete a typical two-story home in under an hour so often schedules 3-4 houses a day. I'm in the wrong business .
As for the housecleaning service just keep in mind that you should deffinetely charge by the hour and not a flat fee otherwise you'll get a long list of things to complete that's impossible to finish within the time frame. I learned through my friend that house keepers hate doing windows, stoves, microwaves and ovens because they are super time consuming. You want to be able to get in, to your thing quickly, and get out and on the next home. It's super hard to find a house keeper that will do any of those things in my area. My friend will do it but only because she charges hourly and will let her clients know that she only has a limited block of time available and if they want her to do windows, appliances or deep scrub floors that they either need to book her an extra day (or block of time) to do those extra long duties or skip doing the normal cleaning duties that she would normally do for them.
It might be a good option for you and hey, maybe you can keep advertising for kids (if that's what your heart is really into) while you do house keeping until you find clients.
We have a great young girl that comes here every other week and she charges $15 an hour. Usually around 5 hours worth of work. It comes in very handy because most weekends are spent running errands and don't have a lot of time on weekends to get the deep cleaning done.
