    Yeah, Back in Business

Today is the first day that I've had a "non grandchild" back in care. For the past 5 yrs, I've only had my grandkids, wanted time alone with them.

He's 8 and I haven't had an 8 yo boy in 12 - 13 yrs, a LONG time. I still have tons of tiny Legos and K'NEX, books, air hockey, etc for him to play with. I hope he's not too bored this week. He goes back to school next Monday.

    Wish me luck.

One week....he can hang in there even if he is bored for just a few days. Hope he fits in well though! How great to be able to help with your own grandchildren. Just curious but did you receive any pay for this or just do it for free since its family?

He's an only child, so he's used to entertaining himself.

I didn't charge for the grands. But the mommies paid in other ways. #1 helps cook dinner every night. #2 either helps with dinner or entertains all the kids. Daddy #2 often takes the kids out front for long bike rides or out back to play while I'm getting dinner. If I have to take a day off, one of the mommies stays home and watches all the kids. Both daddies fix the kids dinner plates and gets them up to the tables.

Both mommies help with the cleaning, running errands, picking up kids from school when they can. Mommie #1 does most of the after school pick ups. Mommie #2 drops off for the preschool.

Signing up another 8 yo boy this afternoon. I can walk both the boys to school together in the mornings.
