    Roaring

My 2 yo dcb has figured that that roaring at the other kids annoys them, so of course, he does it constantly. He's taught the 3 yo to roar too, and they do it ALL. THE. TIME. I think this sound is second only to high-pitched screeches for annoying level.

How do I discourage this? I've tried telling them not to do it, but they just look at me and giggle and do it some more. I've tried ignoring it and that just backfires because then the other kids get tired of being roared at and start yelling about it.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

There is a book called "The Loudest Roar" for children. It's about a little lion who does the same thing you DCK is doing and about friendship and his friends don't like it either. The littlelion's group of friends get together and end up scaring the lion by sneaking up and roaring/squawking loudly at him. He learns his lesson

I have a no barking inside or in public places rules so I share your pain. This rule is mostly for my 7 year old who alternately thinks she's a dog or half cheetah. The cat only hisses so there is no ban on that (yet).

I am going to buy this book, ASAP. My 4 yo delights in growling at the 3 yo because he goes into melt down every single time.
