There is a Stripper in the House

My 18 mo old dc girl keeps taking her pants off. Everything is big on here as she is a slim little thing. Any suggestions to keep them on her.....thought about a diaper outside the pants.

LOL I have one too. I just had mom pick up those little leggings from Walmart for $3- they fit pretty snug and don't fall down. I had to explain I cant have them running around without pants, or tripping and falling etc- its a safety issue they could bonk their head. I put a big note on the door reminding families to bring kids appropriately dressed to play in clothes that fit too, at least for a couple of days.

Can you snap her onesie on the outside of her pants?
That works here - only takes about a week till they "unlearn" the habit of taking their pants off:-)

Remember the "Rugrats" on Nickelodeon? There was a great episode where all of the kids kept taking their clothes off...the parents took them to a child psychologist who diagnosed the behavior as "Spontaneous Shedding of Clothing"::::::

Unfortunately no onsie on her, ever. Belly always hanging out. I put a bigger diaper on her outside her pants and backwards......that should work.

My "stripper" dcg is almost 2 and is very thin also. She didn't have a big stripping stage with pants, but the few times she did, I just let her go without them for a bit. I figured she was probably getting annoyed with pants that kept falling down. Mom and Dad now gather the waist and sew it smaller.

If it's because the clothes are too big then I'd ask the parents to send something that will fit better. Fitting in the waist is better then being long enough.

If it's because she's just taking her pants off, then either let her go with no pants (if she's keeping the diaper on) or do like your doing and put something over that she can't get them off.

I have a 3 yr old dcg who also is very thin. For pants to fit her at the waist she needs 18-24 months however, that is not what her mom brings her in most days. Today, for instance, she had on size 6 jeans. Theywere folded up like 3 inches at least and they did have a belt on that went around her twice and the pants still kept falling down. 3 yr old doesn't even pull the pants up. I think she is frustrated because they don't stay up. Most days I will put her in a dress, skirt or a pair of shorts that I have on hand. And change her back before pick-up. Her 10 month old brother is the same way. Very little. He needs to be in 3-6 months clothes(no kidding) and they have him in 12-18 months and the clothes just hang on him. He stands and can walk behind a walkbehind toy and he's always tripping. I usually put him in a onesie during the day and change him back before pick-up.
My son is big (compared to them) He 's almost 3 and wears 4/5t shirts and 3/4t pants and they are always asking me what size he is in and his weight. Which is about 35lbs. The 3 yr old girl is barely over 20. I don't know why they always ask me. I don't think their weight/height should be an issue. I just want them to wear the right size clothing.

Have you ever mentioned it to the parents they really need to be in the correct size clothing? Tell them they can't walk, etc....

I told them numerous times about the 3 yr old girl. She was a little over one when they started coming to me and I did tell them that she was having trouble walking, falling down et. But apparently, her mom is deaf or just doesn't get it. I don't know. I just gave up. I figure now with the brother, why bother. I've been through this before. Just falls on deaf ears.

Buy a few pair and add in on the bill. The bill always gets their attention. If they complain just remind them that they had plenty of opportunity to dress the child appropriately and safely for play. They may not care how many times she trips- but they'll sue you if she gets bruised or scraped up- so they don't have a choice.

I would put a onsie on the little streaker for sure I had to do that 4 my son he was 18 mon. old because the diaper would come off too and he would pee in his crib or potty on the floor. Just lay the law down and let the parents know that what they are doing is not working.
