    How Often?

How often do u mop? Do u move the fridge and such when u mop?

Here we are required to mop every day. I don't bother usually until closing unless there is a large spill or mess of some sort. I was moping this AM because I forgot to last night. DCM came and saw the mop hanging and said "U mopped the floor AGAIN? U just did that a few days ago didn't u?" She can tell sometimes when I mop in the AM because my bucket and mop are sitting out in the sun to dry. I told her "yes it is a requirement by the state" and she just rolled her eyes and said "They don't know if u mop or not I wouldn't bother so much" I told her I did cheat I didn't move the fridge

Why does she care? And why wouldn't u want your child in a clean place every morning?

are you sure she just wasn't sympathizing with you having to do the same job over and over?

anyway, I love being unlicensed We usually mop the kitchen one time a week. Downstairs is swept and wiped up as needed. We do not move furniture, or at least not very often.

I don't believe we have requirements on mopping, at least I hope not. :: I vacuum almost every day but only mop 2-3 times a week and only move the fridge once in a while - definitely not every time!!

maybe DCM was just saying it as a "you do too much" type comment - not as a negative???

I think she was being more sympathetic than anything. We have no requirements on it. I mop about once a week but try to run the swiffer around daily to every two days. When I was able to (different set of children) I would clean two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening! Now I'm unable to clean in the mornings and really am unable to clean for 4 hours in the evenings so what I can get done, gets done or has to wait for another day.

We only get one shot at this!!

about once a week, but I sweep 2 or 3 times a day in the kitchen and vacum once a day sometimes twice (figures I go thru vacums like crazy) I think the mom was sympathizing with you because she figures that its crazy to clean that much.

Could have been. We are required to sweep and mop daily. I am not required to move the fridge everyday tho. Other daily musts are vaccuming and all garbage emptied daily. Thanks for the input! Now I don't feel so bad about letting it go for a day if I have to. I don't really think they could tell anyway, unless I went days or a week or more. I just worry the 1 time I do let a rule slide they will pop in and bust me!

I don't mop until the boys stick to the floor (J/K). I mop 1 - 2 times a week, all depends. I couldn't move my fridge to mop if I tried. It's wedged in tight. They had to spray the counter with Pam to get it in.

Sweeping is usually done once a day. Vacuuming is about once a week.

I mop 3 or 4 times a week and sweep countless times a day. I love my Swiffer sweep and vac with all my heart.

Not as often as I ought to?

Sweeping I'm getting better at doing everyday, mopping 1x per week if I'm lucky. I switched to a Swiffer mop and want to get one of the ones that looks like a swiffer but has a reuseable cleaner bottle so you can use your own cleaner and has reuseable mop pads. I forget the brand, but I really really want it. Or a steam mop. Anything that makes the job simpler than mop, cleaner, bucket, rinse...

We usually mop once after lunch and at night. It's not because we have to, it's because some of our children get more food on the floor than in their mouths.

I have it too, its ok. i would like a steam mop, but more for bathrooms, I think a steam mop would do a better job.

That is a huge problem here! I make sure their chairs are pushed in to the table and still the drop over the side or lean back and goof off with the food. Yesterday 2 and 3 yr old were acting like pizza was an airplane. (I cut them in thin wedges) So 2 pieces fell on the floor toppings and all. Almost everyday I have to clean the eating area 2 or 3 times because of the food and spills. Thank God I opted to not have it over the carpeted area.

Another problem I have is my 2 yr old eats with his hands instead of the fork no matter how much I reinforce the fork. So his hands are always covered in food. He then slides his hands down the chair and holds on to the seat. So every day by the time he is done eating I have some stuck on food to scrub off the chair and under the seat edge.

This is it! If you have a Sam's club, it's $20 with an extra pad.
I had a problem with mine after a couple of months with the mop head falling off. I e-mailed the company and they sent me a voucher for $25 off oany rubber-maid product, enough for a brand new mop!
