I've got a couple school agers that I allow to play outside during nap. I check on them every so often but they are on their own most of the time. Lately a couple school aged neighborhood kids have been hanging out at the fence. I asked them to go away the first time because they were trying to get inside the yard. Today they were just standing on the other side of the fence talking. I don't know these kids except that they behave in manners I don't like my kids to behave in (rude words, littering). I had my school agers come in today but I'm not sure what my next step should be. I really don't want to have to spend all of nap time keeping the neighbors away and nor do I want my kids spending all of nap time talking to these kids I don't trust or like. Any ideas? Thanks!

You have a problem I'm not sure you can handle the way you want to.
Kids like to talk and play with other kids. When your kids are out, the other kids want to hang out and play with them, somebody new.
If the kids are on your property, you can ask them to leave. If they are on the sidewalk you can ask them to leave, but that's public property.
You can try telling the neighborhood kids that you are a licensed provider and it's against the law to have any other kids on your property. I doubt they will get the message though.- Flag
