What Would You Pay Someone For This?

The first week of September my twin girls will start a MDO out program at a church literally right behind my house.

It will be twice a week from 9a-2p. They have to be walked straight to their room so with all the daycare kids with me it just wouldn't work. And pickup is smack dab in the middle of nap.

I'm thinking about asking around/CL to try and find a mother's helper of sorts to pick them up at my house, walk them to school and then walk them back at 2p.

What would you pay someone for this? I was thinking maybe $50/month?? Too high?? Too low??

    What do you think?

I don't think I would do it for $50 a month. More of an inconvenience than anything with someone's time. I would think you would have to make it worth while. I would say that any service would be worth at least $25 per week.

Maybe ask one of the other parents in the class to help you out. They could park at your house, walk both children to the classroom and then just leave from your house. I would bet they would do it for free, too .

maybe you could find a mom who's child is also in the program who will do it for you...i would contact the teachers, and have them spread the word. this is what we did when my son was in preschool...we would all take turns carpooling.

i kind of agree with mac. if you hire someone off of the street, it may cost you more.

if you find a mom in the program, seeing youre right next door, she may do it for you for much less or even free

How many kids do you have? I would just take all my kids with me. There is 7 total on some days but most are walking and it doesn't sound like it would be far.

Do you know a teenager in the neighborhood? What about an unemployed parent or a SAHM that might be able to swing it? Offer him/her $5 - $10 a day to walk your child there and back.

I'd probably take them TO school but find another mom in the program to pick them up. 2pm is a hard time. My kids get out of school by 2:50 every day so our naptime runs frmo 11:30-2pm. There are days I'd love to let them all sleep later, because I know they will.

maybe one of the teachers would be willing to do it since it is so close?

I'm trying to talk the director into this idea so hopefully she'll find one that would be willing. Our house is literally at the back of their parking lot.
