    Forms acknowledging early closing...

...MARSTELAC here. So the one dcp that didn't show up until after closing time on the day I needed to close early claimed she didn't know I was closing early...which is a load of bs. Anyway, to solve the problem, I prepared a list of dates I need to be closed or close early (again) and this time had a space for signature and date. I gave her two of them last week. Still don't have them back. Now what? Can't get her to sign them. What would you do?
Thanks guys.....I don't know what I'd do without all of you!

Can you e-mail her? Get her to reply to an e-mail stating the dates you close early and that will be confirmation that you can use.

Next time, hand her a clipboard at pickup with a copy to sign (that you keep) and a copy for her reference. I've learned that sending papers to sign home with parents is a surefire way to never see them again.

Does your contract address this issue. Mine says that failure to sign any forms can/will result in termination possible with little to no notice.

Don't let her in without the signed document required.

It is no different than not coming with diapers or formula in hand after being requested to, IMHO.

Access denied.... I don't do power plays.

How would she feel if you played the same game with her tax receipt?
        - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I have a blank line on each day of my sign in/out, under the list of names.

I am closing Tuesday for Dr appts. On the 2-3 days before I close, I write on that line, "Closed Tuesday", then Closed tomorrow. I write this on several days before, b/c I have 2 part timers that aren't here everyday. On the "Day" I am closed, I write CLOSED across the entire section. I do this in red pen.

I do this, in addition to sending home a notice of closing, two weeks before I close.

The parent acknowledges reading it when they sign them in and out.
