I'm sure we have all had this happen but I was wondering what you do in response to this. I have one little boy (he's not quite 2) who suffers with excema & gets it on his bottom also (it is not diaper rash). He gets it so bad he will scratch & it will make it so much worse. Their pediatrician has told them to use Aquaphor ointment/lotion to help control it. Mom will bring some for me but when I run out & let her know she is slow to replace it. Last week he had it even worse as he'd had diarehha (per mom) over the weekend & it irritated the problems he was already having. So he was itching like crazy & his bottom was broken out so bad. I told mom 2x I was out that week. I ended up using the store brand of it that I bought for my own son & even though it is a store brand it was still $8 a tube!!!! Anyway, I guess the poitn I am making is if I were the parent & I knew my child had this condition I would be proactive & do all I could to stop it from getting worse. And yes, it may be inconvenient to run out & buy it but I wouldn't let me child go without. I even made a point of telling her I was using my own that I had purchased for my own child & it didn't even make her flinch. I guess I don't get some parents. So what do you do when a child runs out of something & the parent is supposed to provide it? I won;t charge her for what I used although I feel I have a right to, I likely used 1/2 of my tube of Aquaphor on him last week.

Nest time you buy it save the receipt & put in with you DC expenses. I always buy a tube of diaper cream just to have on hand for the kids. I have found that having a little insert by the supplies needed in my policy stating that I will charge $40 a week if needed for supplies needed, if the child needs diapers & they dont bring them it will cost them $40. a week until they do. -
I would just consider that tube that used to be your son's to be his now, and add the cost of the whole tube to her bill. Let her know it is almost gone and you need another tube right away.Comment

That's a hard one. Maybe tell her that if she doesn't provide you with any then your going to have to charge her $20 and you will replace it yourself.
That said, if he has eczema that bad he needs to be using a steroid cream on it to clear it up. Eczema is not very common in the diaper area, so it is likely something else causing his rash. Eczema more typically causes a red, itchy rash on a child's cheeks, arms, and legs. It might be a yeast infection.
My son has eczema and I had a doctor show me in the medical book the page about eczema and it showed photos how it was no in the diaper area, she made a point to telling me that it would not be in the diaper area, so I wouldn't think a diaper rash was eczema.

My older sons had issues with it (excema) too so I am familiar with it & they never had it in their diaper areas either. They always had it behind their knees or on their cheeks, etc. I guess my first post wasn't clear though, it is mostly on his back, slightly above his bottom not truly inside the diaper area although sometimes there are a few patches there also. Hard to explain! Anyway, I even hinted to her last week that maybe he needed to be seen by the dr. but of course she didn't take him so I doubt she will just up & take him b/c I suggest it,That's a hard one. ! I'm sure he would benefit by seeing the dr. though. I like the idea of telling her if she doesn't bring some I will charge her for it.

I would also put the cost of the medicine on her bill. My daughter also has eczema and gets it on her bottom. Her Doctor prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide .1% for her. Those little tubes go really fast too. The parent should know better and she needs to keep on top of the supplies. It is hard to get rid of in the diaper area because of the moisture...which is eczemas enemy. Anyway, tack on the cost to her bill.
When parents forget to bring wipes at my place I have them bring two packs. When I run out of one I tell them to bring another so I not completely out while they get around to buying the new one. Just an idea.Comment

It is frustrating, and I don't understand, if it was her bottom you know darn well she would "have it covered". My parents pay the same rate everyweek. I would probably continue to place notes in her bag daily until I get it. I would also probably keep a tube of diaper cream on hand ( I do this now) and charge it to dc expenses.
Some parents are so caught up in themselves that they forget about the little ones. Wonder why some have kids sometimes.Comment
