    Contracts

I'm trying to figure out ideas on how to make up a contract but do not have any idea on how to start. Does anyone have one they could show me or tell me how yours looks so I can go from there please?

    Thank You

    Thank You
I'll PM you with a link to mine but I have to warn you that mine is WAY different than others that I have seen. I have it work with my HB and they have to sign after each section and again at the very end of the contract. This way there is NO confusion or debate about whether they agreed to follow the policies or not.

Our county required that we address certain things in our policies. I don't remember specifically what they are. My main points in my contract are:

      Acceptance Criteria - (Non-discrimination)
Ages & Numbers of Children in Care - (What my license allows)
      Hours & Days of Operation
      Scheduling
Meals & Snacks to be Served
      Infant Meals
Labeling Requirements for Food Brought From Home
      Sleeping & Rest Arrangements
Supplies (that can be left here or in bag daily)
      Damages
Medicine Permission Policy (including bug repellent & sunscreen)
Policies for Ill Children and Disease Notification Procedures
      Immunizations
Safety, Emergency, Fire & Storm Plans
Seat belt & transportation plans & field trip & transportation permission req.
      Fees
      Termination & Notice Procedures
      Plans for a helper
      Education and Early Learning
      Presence of Pets in Residence
      Insurance Coverage
Policies & Procedures for reporting suspected child abuse and neglect
      Complaint and Grievance Procedures
      Discipline
      Vacations and Time-Off
Policy for wading and swimming pools
      Chemical Policy
Stating having Copy of MN Rules for check out
      Signature Page
Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.

Providerwatch.com has a service where you can send them a copy of your contract and they will have an attorney look it over and give you any advise they think you need. It's a free service. I did it many years ago.

They called me and asked if they could use my contract on the web site as a sample. It's still there after all these years! My contract is now longer and more detailed. I no longer do sibling discounts and my late fees are heftier etc....but it gives you an idea.

Click on helpful hints tab and then scroll down to sample contract.

Wow...just re-read it......so much has changed! I don't allow toys from home now either...I did back then. I guess that's the good thing...it's YOUR contract and you can change it whenever you need to. I look at the one on providerwatch and laugh and say "I did what?!!" My contract has certainly evolved since then! It's been over 10 years at least!
