Problems with 5 year old Daycare Girl.

I have a five year old girl here who I am having problems with. Her mom and dad are separated and she is living full time with dad right now. Mom has major issues with alcohol and drugs and has been in rehab on a couple of occassions. Mom is also one of those kinds of moms that is decked out to the dime everytime you see her.

Problem is this 5 year old girl has an obsession with make up and hair products. Last week I spent an hour after work looking for my favorite lip stick, only to find out the next day that she had taken it. This morning I caught her sticking another tub of my lipstick down the front of her skirt. This morning she comes in with a swollen eye because she put nail polish on her eye lid.

Also last friday I caught her peeing in my tub which I immediately informed her dad of.

Have any of you dealt with situations such as this and if so what did you do?

there is no excuse for a child to behave like that. I hate when people blame childrens behviors on divorce or medical problems. She is old enough to know that there are consequences for her bad actions. She's probably testing you now.
as for the peeing, tell her from now on she has to leave the bathroom door open, after a couple times of this she'll get it. As for the makeup, where is she finding it in your house, if its in the bathroom then you need to start and supervise her visits to the bathroom and do a body search before she leaves. There is no excuse for stealing. Now also put your makeup somewhere else. Does she have her own makeup, maybe she would like some, you can buy childrens makeup and show her how to wear it. My girls love nailpolish.
